sayjann
never had a problem landing on Phuket, but then again never when it has been raining. one of the worst landing i've ever had was at Gatwick on A Thai Airways Flight. we bounced up and down the Runway and even the trolley dollies looked worried. wonderlust
I was on a plane when the landing was aborted at the last minute due to bad weather. It was Qatar or Etihad or Kuwait or something. It was scary and I can easily see how any breakdown in communications between the pilot and air traffic control would have catastrophic consequences in that situation. chuckwoww
Any chance cell phones played a part in communications breakdown? ....I'm just asking.
Barry
Hi, 68 confirmed dead now. And true to form Thai TV is doing its best to show as many burned corpses as possible KS I'm taking 2 bar girls there in a couple of weeks. Will have a tough job coaxing them onto the plane now. nkped
If the conditions were marginal (or worse), there may be a question as to whether air traffic control should have shut down the airport. After that, the question of more general concern would be how well the fire department and other emergency services responded.
