sanddawg1
Thus the title to this thread is nonsense. Just a glance at the title and the poster's name tells you it's nonsense. HH Yes I just upgraded him from wood crate to lead box!!!!
khun_khon_neua
That's the best you can come with? We won those bases fair and square. Of course, in that war, I believe your country gave aid and comfort to Germany at every opportunity. Shows you how much expertise you have in foreign affairs.
Flashermac
If Bush wants to remain in Iraq forever, that's fine with me. They are more than welcome to him!

Julian2
We don't want him down here again either... You're really swinging to the left aren't you? Can't say I blame you after Howard let his "battlers" down. Just remember, voting Labor is acceptable, voting Commo will cost you friends.
Fidel
I believe your country gave aid and comfort to Germany at every opportunity. Shows you how much expertise you have in foreign affairs. Good man, Khon Neua. You've illustrated your own limited, narrow understanding of world affairs. Based on the War Office calculation that 22 men served for every one who died, she estimates that 99,997 Irishmen volunteered, with the number divided almost evenly between the North and the South. Source Don't forget, we were officially neutral, yet per head of population, almost as many Irish men as US soldiers fought in WW2. Also, we had just managed to kick the Brits out of 26 of the 32 counties, we weren't really inclined to defend them, understandably, I think. And as a 3rd world country, we weren't in much of a position to give 'aid' to Germany, now were we? You boys, on the other hand... Ford, GE, General Motors.... and Bush's grandfather, all helped the Nazis out no end.
Faustian
So now there are 3...KKN, HH and RY....or is it 2 or 1? They all espouse the same inculcated doctrine. Don't stray from the path lads... independent thinking, the antithesis of right wing ideology. Cognitive dissonance is a bitch. Ignore the personal attacks Fidel. Nice to have you back, you missed lots of, well, ummm, the usual really. Hint for dealing with the rabid cadre...ignore their baiting.
cavanami
"... You boys, on the other hand... Ford, GE, General Motors.... and Bush's grandfather, all helped the Nazis out no end." Yes, they good ol' boys in the USA were "double dipping", supplying the Germans and everyone else they could make $$$ from! Hell, they supported Russia during the Cold War!!! Of course, once the USA was out of Viet Nam, the Germans and French went running in their to get their $$$. It is all about $$$.
Barry
So now there are 3...KKN, HH and RY....or is it 2 or 1? They all espouse the same inculcated doctrine. Don't stray from the path lads... independent thinking, the antithesis of right wing ideology. Cognitive dissonance is a bitch. But it isn't just a right wing thing. RY isn't being plain old right wing.. That's just his leaning. He is bordering on the unthinking fanatic. Defending the indefensible. Truth=lies & lies=truth. Would make a good mouthpiece for any undesirable regime. Goebbels would be proud to have him on board.
Steve
No one is comopletely innocent. American companies did make money off Nazi germany. Henry Ford as a devout anti-semite and bought a newspaper just to spout it. Joe Kennedy was a sympathizer as well despite having two sons serve in the military in WW2 and one died in combat. In the '30s he was a sympathizer. After Pearl Harbor there was no way anyone could be a sympathizer. Anyway, with regards to the America in Iraq thingy. Non starter. McCain possibly. I wouldn't even say definitely. He was misquoted about the 100 years in Iraq statement. However, he is not a neo con and not a believer. McCain wouldn't have gone into Iraq had he been president during that time. We're in and being a former soldier he wants to win it. Which may amount to the same thing but its not a war he believes in like Bush. As far as the bases in Japan and other places. Despite some issues with the local citizenry, Japan likes us there as a hedge against Chinese aggression. Same with the Koreans despite some of the younger folks wanting us out. Apples and oranges. If McCain wins he'll look for the first opportunity to hand over more control to the locals.
