Barry
if you prefer that, you probably better fly cattle class! No chance. There's more to the flight than food and wine. I would rather not go on holiday than fly economy long haul.
Damen
Another reason to go with SQ.....Book the Cook. I've taken the Thai direct flight from LA a couple times and the food was good. Granted, I was in Biz class. I've yet to have a bad meal on SQ. The food in cattle class for long haul flights?? I wouldn't know because when I'm forced to do these trips, the only thing that goes in my mouth during the flight is Ambien
CTO
If you have to go cattle long haul - and I still do - then Sing is the way - or any other airline with all the games movies etc.

Otherwise I fly premium economy making EVA my only realistic option. If TG brought that in from LHR, I'd probably take that.
USVirgin
I've taken the Thai direct flight from LA a couple times and the food was good. Granted, I was in Biz class. I've yet to have a bad meal on SQ. I get SQ biz class meals at home often, usually catered in Tokyo, because my lazy spouse works for them. When I fly for free, they nowadays always serve me economy meals, , which aren't bad either! I rate their catering higher out of Tokyo than LAX, TPE, HKG, or SIN (JMHO). The food in cattle class for long haul flights?? I wouldn't know because when I'm forced to do these trips, the only thing that goes in my mouth during the flight is Ambien Same same, but Ambien only works for a few hours for me. I don't know much about pills - I only recently learned to take them on flights - but I found Xanax works much better for me. Thank god for small mercies that I can keep a bag of pills in the medicine cabinet without even thinking about touching them (with the exception of Cialis). Wouldn't happen with a bottle of vodka.

MooNoi
I just picked up a Royal Orchid redemption ticket from BKK - Saigon return from the TG office here in Sydney. Yes... used points for the "airfare", but $180.00 AUD ($170 USD) for fuel surcharge and taxes!
