Fidel
Sounds good. I land in Bangkok on September 26th. It looks like I'll manage Malaga from the 14th-21st, then Bangkok on the 26th! Coooooooooooooool!
Flashermac
Hitler built highways, ended massive unemployment, restored national pride ... so okay, he wasn't a nice guy. Is that important?
samak
...and Thailand was on Hitler's side (so they always like the nice guys) until it was foreseeable that he will loose WWII; then they changed side!

radioman
I'm rather siding with CTO over his point that PAD is not the answer. Though something I read today might suggest better than I give them credit for. It suggested that they want an appointed government to be in place only until the 'necessary' court proceedings are dealt with, whatever they are?!?! But that sounds better than their alternative which rather sounds like the democracy advocated by some royalist/Prem'ist branches of their support base. You need to read Paul Handley's book, albeit with a little tongue in cheek in some places, to really get a feel for where these people might really be coming from. khun_khon_neua
99.99999% of people in Bangkok are going about their normal business today. Agree that Paul Handley's book gives a very good historical perspective of what is going on. You do need to balance that against the popular version of modern Thai history. The real truth, as usual, probably lies somewhere in the middle.
Flashermac
On Monday, PAD was in Suan Amporn and Samak was in Government House. On Tuesday, PAD moved into Government House and Samak moved to Suan Amporn. So basically, they traded places. Gotta love Thailand.
