Their surprise encounter will profoundly impact both of them as they open the door to the past. Two superb leads play two flawed characters well in this low key somewhat flawed drama.

A 1300 miles road trip across Nigeria in three episodes he says took three weeks, Palin is in bustling Lagos to start and end with. Palin as an octogenarian traveler, Nigeria and Channel 5 are all warning signs, but somehow this is watchable fluff.

A down-and-out stuntman must find the missing star of his ex-girlfriend's blockbuster film. Based n the 80's TV series, an action packed rom-com offers nothing new besides being an homage to the stuntman, comes with all the cliches in the book, but is mindlessly entertaining.

Vigil [2021 TV]
The mysterious disappearance of a Scottish fishing trawler and a death onboard a Trident nuclear submarine bring the police into conflict with the Navy and British security services. Excellent crime drama series with neat twists in a unique setting on a par with Line Of Duty police dramas. Two series are completed with talk of a third.

Hillbilly Elegy [2020 Movie]
An urgent phone call pulls a Yale Law student back to his Ohio hometown, where he reflects on three generations of family history and his own future. This 2020 film is of interest because its by Ron Howard about JD Vance, based on his biography, who was later to run for Vice President of the United States. It is nevertheless not one of Howard's best works, formulaic hillbilly melodramatics that dulls the senses.

The Bikeriders [2023 Movie]
After a chance encounter, a headstrong woman is drawn to a biker, member of Midwestern motorcycle club the Vandals. As the club transforms into a dangerous underworld of violence, he must choose between the woman and his loyalty to the club. Some brilliant character performances in this homage to a slice of Americana nostalgia is highly entertaining with a great soundtrack.
