Mekong
Anyone see the trouble in Patpong last night when commerce minister ordered in special forces to try and clamp down on copywright laws. Still pitched battles going on at 1 AM this morning, never a dull moment in this city.

cavanami
It happens on a regular and "preannounced" basis at Pan Tip and in China Town. Don't think I ever heard of a raid around Patpong but another way for the BiB to get some tea money.
Faustian
Shots fired! Bottles thrown! Cars damaged! Hundreds involved, all in one of the most popular tourist areas....cool...more helpful publicity for Thailand. Nice move by the police.
TroyinEwa/Perv
Knee/jerk reaction. U.S. recently announced a list of countries they're "watching." U.S. has said not enough has been done in the last year when they were first "warned" to end it. Ridiculous on both ends of the spectrum.

Obviously you didn't read the article, slight difference between a full on 4 hour riot in the middle of a tourist area with shots fired etc and a pre planned raid on Panthip. cavanami
if the raids were not announced at Pan Tip and other areas, there would also be shots fired. TIT. This is the first I have ever heard of a raid in Patpong

cavanami
Errrr, excuse me? Sorry that this was the first time I ever heard of a raid of Patpong, meaning just that, I have never heard of raids there but that is just me. Maybe they have raids there everyday but in my ignorance, I have not heard of them...but since I first landed in LOS in 1968 (and did have my eyes shut, along with thousands of other Yanks), [edit Mod3] Never said the raid(s) never happened but that my tin head just never heard of them...
