LOS Arrests Quality Tourist

some of the crime cases recently have been a joke starting with this one...

The problem is not the stupid person in question but the stupidity of the police/authorities to even make this a case...

Yeah, I do vote for stupid people all around us. And talking about stupidity, what about the american lake-swimmer in Burma causing all sorts of problems there....

Its just a shame that the authorities and officials in these countries lack so little intelligence and common sense...

Clearly, they are trying to justify their boring and non-productive jobs by making mountains out of mole-hills...

What's next? Some British guy who doesn't have a legitimate passport photo?

Sounds like a situation that got out of control and Thai officials "lost face", so now the heat is on!

Spank the lady for being stupid (mouthing off to the police, allegedly), etc and send her home.

Pay a "fine" to the police the bar, whatever...move on.

It is in German news as well. link

By the way, does anybody believe the price of 45 USD for the beer mat, wasn't it probably like 45 cents?

And what is an undercover policeman doing there anyway?

For me it looks more like a scam by the police gone wrong - she did not pay a bribe but went furious and now the police has lost face...

Also as a side note, there is huge difference between putting a drunk punter in Patty in prison or a mother of four young daughters.

For the common tourist the incident signals that no one is safe in LOS anymore, even the police is becoming a threat for tourists.

Of course, this is just a very small incident, but that this making world news shows, that LOS is under surveillance by the Western media and that the positive stereotype of the "Land of Smile" is slowly changing to that very negative image that LOS is dangerous place to be for holiday makers.

PS: What it the difference between a "night-time theft" and a day-time theft, except that it is dark outside??
