Faustian
MN, agree...test cricket is the real deal...it develops, confounds, twists and surprises...and as an England supporter, occasionally delights... The lead is beginning to look quite healthy....I think 500 should do it. I was very surprised the follow-on wasn't enforced, this ploy can backfire horribly...we shall see... Pom Michael
Hey - I'm trying to follow - with not much success. I figure out what the night watchman is all about, but what is the concept of the "follow on"? http://www.lords.org/laws-and-spirit/laws-of-cricket/laws/law-13-the-follow-on,39,AR.html
The_Munchmaster
If the team batting second doesn't get within 200 runs of the score of the team batting first then they can be asked to follow on, i.e. bat again immediately after completing their first innings. sayjann
i'm not a big fan of cricket but like to watch it now and then. i'm not that bothered if England win the Ashes but i suppose i would smile a little if they did.... but i dislike Ponting,i hope no Aussies on this board are as arrogant as that twat. the look on his face when given out was priceless...... and his 2 fuck-ups in the field were so funny... and the images of him as the opponents batsman thrashed his bowlers around the ground was so good to see........ Trust me, not many Aussies like him either! As a batsman, his record is fantastic, but as a captain, most Australians can't stand the prick. Me included.
