"...As for the immigration issue: I suppose you approve of spending $5000.00 or more for rounding up each illegal only for them to return again? Why not make them taxpayers and get them to help in reducing our tax burden instead of increasing our tax burden?..."

Studies have shown Illegals would contribute less in taxes than they would consume in services. Thus making them pay taxes would only lesson the burden, not show a gain from them. Additionally, you could greatly curtail the flow of illegals, and eventually reduce the number here...but the government would have to get nasty and serious, and they won't.

"...If the country continues with their wars, their war on drugs, and trying to get rid of illegals, the country will go bankrupt! We can not ford all of this crap!..."

This country was going bankrupt long before kicking out illegals, and Obama care...wars and poor planning have contributed a lot...illegals further suck the tit dry.

...completely unconstitutional!

The US constitution states: The individual states have control of health care' date=' NOT the federal government...just another example of Prez. O trashing the constitution!!![/quote']

What part of the constitution does it violate? And why do the politicians with the best coverage in the nation NOT want others to have any coverage at all?

:yeahthat:

congress is given the right to enact laws that benefit the citizens, not just deny women health care & put the 10 commandments at court houses.

the home schooled are continuously spouting such meaningless BS as "drink the kool-aide", socialism (streets & clean water supplies are socialism ), 'death panels' (= planning for the inevitable is a negative) & my favorite foxism 'keep government out of medicare'

fox news types:

1. avoid check able facts

2. see above

Flash...that's it exactly...this is not a government take over of healthcare...if it were, then this would become a not-for-profit enterprise. Instead, it will still be run by private for-profit insurance companies...albeit finally with some regulations.

The only government involvment with the average citizen is the requirment that we all buy the insurance (much like how we are required to buy auto insurance)...although they will pay for it if we cannot. But government has no voice in the actual healthcare. And even that doesn't start for 4 years...and may be altered by then.

But...why not make it a not-for-profit enterprise??? We don't have to provide the police or fire department with our credit card number before they will come out because somebody's broken into our house or it is burning down. That hasn't turned us all into commies. Why is the contents of our house more important than the contents of our bodies? Everything DOES NOT have to be for profit.

We have long accepted that while pursuit of happiness issues are best left to profit making entities...the life and liberty parts can be better controlled by the government...which is why we have institutions like the police, fire dept, education, roads, the military, etc that are handled differently. Health care should certainly be one of these.

Because it is too important an issue to have our doctor's decisions controlled by a big business who's interest is in making money...not in making us healthy. Which is why we are the number one country in the world in spending for health care, but only ranked number 37 in actual quality of heath care.

But, as I said, this new law is certainly a step in the right direction.

So...his personal physical condition mandates what he is and isn't allowed to care about??? (Actually somebody in poor health might be even more interested in the quality of health care than a healthy person, wouldn't you agree...not that I have any knowledge of his actual health...there are plenty of overweight, but otherwise healthy people) Or are you just looking to insult people as a way of avoiding dealing with the real issues?

And yes, the prisoners at GITMO have far better health care than Americans do as wards of the state. That's another great reason for universal health care for all Americans.
