The_Munchmaster
.....it can't be so much that a cut in defense spending can't make up for it?.... Why is it called "defense spending", wouldn't the term "attack spending" be more appropriate.
eldar1
Why is it called "defense spending", wouldn't the term "attack spending" be more appropriate. you make a good point, i guess if they called it "attack spending" the neighboring countries might throw a fit every time the republicans came to power and the newspaper headlines read: "Large increase in attack spending approved by congress"
Old Hippie
So isn't this bill going to have to be revoted now? Seems some people just don't want us to have any coverage options should we need it...

Steve
.....it can't be so much that a cut in defense spending can't make up for it?.... Why is it called "defense spending"' date=' wouldn't the term "attack spending" be more appropriate. [/quote'] Sounds better. It used to be called the 'War Department' around the time of WW2. Technically, we defend ourselves than proactively attack others. Not saying its the case but its the thinking behind the re-naming.
Steve
From The Onion Not discounting some who have a racial bias but I think its anti-Liberal thing. Pelosi, Reid and others are getting just as bad if not worse at times. I still maintain its partly some bitterness over the election, actual disagreement over what is deemed liberal policies with a touch of socialism and a good amount of it being a cause celebre politically to rally people to vote Republican in the next election. What percentage of each, I wouldn't try to guess but I do believe all three are components of the feelings against it.
USVirgin
I agree the sentiment is far more anti-liberal than racist. It was the 'cut off your nose to spite your face' irony that cracked me up.
