passingthru69 Posted November 22, 2010 Report Share Posted November 22, 2010 My last dog i had to put him down. Had fluid on his lungs and congestive heart problems. The vet preped him and I came in at 5 pm and held the little guy in my arms. They gave him the shot and he looked at me and gave me a big yawn and then he passed. Went to see the vet this morning and it turns out 2 of the bones in his neck (vertebrae?) are pushing against each other. Got some meds and we're likely gonna have to get him operated, but it looks like he's gonna be okay. Due to the age of the dog (~11.5) the doc asked if we wanted to treat this. It's not easy. My Mrs told me when she was 10 years old someone poisoned her dog. She cried her eyes out and vowed never to have another pet. (The animals are mine.)
