bust
Trump has campaigned on plans to increase tariffs and deport unauthorized immigrants, and he has said the president should have more influence over the Federal Reserve's monetary policy. Some people have actually gone to the trouble of analyzing what the effects would be if he's given the opportunity. Some of the tables below a pretty alarming. His tariffs would be devastating to the economy.
Mekong
Trump and his supporters still believe that tariffs are paid by the exporter and not the importer and that an increase in tariffs would lead to an increase in cost to the American consumer. This mani is running for President and people support him

bust
I don't get it. The US Supreme Court ruled that the White House could continue to urge social media companies to remove content that contained misinformation, according to media outlets. In a 6 - 3 vote, the nation's highest court maintained that federal agencies such as the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security could continue to flag social media posts by users on Facebook and X that it believes may be the work of foreign agents seeking to disrupt the 2024 presidential race. The case was established in 2022 by Republican officials in Louisiana and Missouri, as well as five social media users, who sued over the common White House practice. Since the coronavirus pandemic and the 2020 presidential election, the Biden administration has engaged with social media platforms to take down posts featuring disinformation about vaccines, pandemic-related speculation and content about former President Donald Trump’s loss in the election being rigged. The White House argued that many of the posts violated the platforms’ stated policies. The plaintiffs argued that the White House did far more than "persuade" social media companies to take down a few deceptive items. Instead, they said, the Biden administration engaged in an informal, backdoor campaign of coercion to silence voices with which it disagreed. The Supreme Court disagreed with that argument. So if that's the case how is Fox still on the air?
Mekong
False claims suggesting that Hurricane Milton was “engineered” and that the weather in Florida is being “manipulated” have been spreading on social media. There is no technology that allows humans to create and control hurricanes. But on platforms like X and TikTok, posts alleging - without evidence - that the US government is secretly controlling the weather have been viewed millions of times. Many were published by accounts known for spreading conspiracy theories, as well as misinformation about Covid-19 or vaccines. On Wednesday, US President Joe Biden described the claims as "beyond ridiculous", adding "it's so stupid, it's got to stop". He was responding to Republican congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, who in recent days suggested on her social media accounts that the US government "can control the weather". Posts seen by BBC Verify mainly suggest Hurricane Milton, one of the strongest storms in recent US history, was purposefully created by shadowy forces at the heart of US politics. But the accounts making that claim proposed several different explanations for how that was supposedly done. Full Article

So if that's the case how is Fox still on the air? The USA is a weird place when it comes to…well damned near everything, but I digress…Words/names and state laws vary greatly. For example, there are several small schools that are VERY elite and good and are called Colleges. These are on par and in some cases, better than some Universities. However, in *SOME* states, the term college can be applied to some low end, 5th rate trade/scam type of school as well. One example is “Barber college” or Trinity college here in the Bay Area, which teaches crap stuff like massage therapy and medical reception…NOT to be confused with Trinity college in Hartford Connecticut which is actually a decent school. So, now to “Fox News.” Is actually registered as an “Entertainment company,” NOT a “News Company.” I *THINK* the same goes for MSNBC, but not 100% sure. Hence, as such, Fox can get away with certain “liberties” as they can be dismissed as “opinions, entertainment, satire etc…” As a former Journalist, and respecter of the first Amendment, I support free speech. HOWEVER, with that right, like any/all rights, comes a responsibility NOT to abuse these rights by misleading or outright lying to people. I am frankly shocked that 3 judges on the SC actually think it is wrong for the government to try and stop harmful crap from being spewed.

Full Article I’m not sure if it was Greene or another dimwit who actually said JEWS with Satellites are controlling the weather and causing the Forrest/wild fires here. This goes beyond simple lies and is pretty much stirring up racial/religious hatred, similar to “…they are eating our pets…” lie spewed by trump. It does have to stop here. Lies have to be identified and debunked…but the sad truth is there are a lot of stupid people here who will believe it. I know people and work with some, who will tell you Michelle Obama is a Man, Barack Obama is a Muslim and gay, the earth is flat, the moon landing was faked, Kennedy was killed because he was going to reveal Martian Alien life etc…you cannot convince these people other wise. Some are religious nut cases and some are just idiots…
