Steve Posted June 27, 2011 Report Posted June 27, 2011 I was in business in Orlando several years ago and a coworker bought me tickets to a Springseen concert. He was a rabid fan and said there is no way I should die without seeing them. Great concert. Great atmosphere amongst the fans. Great show. Don't know where they got the energy to stay on stage so long. Saw the big man as well and it was obvious how much respect he had from the band as well as the crowd.
Flashermac Posted July 9, 2011 Report Posted July 9, 2011 A nice lady has left the planet. Former First Lady Betty Ford Dead at 93
ozpharlap Posted July 10, 2011 Report Posted July 10, 2011 The good old days, when politicians do how to talk and converse, and could deal with answering questions on a broad range of topic, with some form of genuine knowledge, and their first ladies were that, ladies. These days, all we get are puppets, and actors ... our current Australian Prime Minister is the most stupid ignorant phoney I have ever met, she makes South American dictators look peaceful and competent
Flashermac Posted July 10, 2011 Report Posted July 10, 2011 And she's Welsh! Never could have happened in the US. The prez and vice prez have to be native born citizens (or at least have a really good fake birth certificate).
Redbaron Posted July 10, 2011 Report Posted July 10, 2011 ... plus the alternative (Opposition Leader, the one with the big ears), was born in England, so we were up the creek either way..
ozpharlap Posted July 10, 2011 Report Posted July 10, 2011 The POMS inseminated us from the beginning, which is not a bad thing ... if the French got here first, maybe we would all be talking German or Japanese ... one small point in history, it was Australian victories in battle, in both the Pacific and in France, that began to turn the tide against the invading forces
ozpharlap Posted July 11, 2011 Report Posted July 11, 2011 PNG actually ... we turned them back on the Kakoda trail (track) with help from the fuzzy wuzzies
Flashermac Posted July 11, 2011 Report Posted July 11, 2011 Good thing ... or you'd have had them coming ashore at Darwin next! I've got a snapshot at home that a friend who'd served in NG gave me. It shows two fuzzies holding up a severed Jap head in each hand. I suppose they had the rest of the bodies for dinner.
