Mekong
AFAIK people of our age should be relatively protected since (hopefully) our mothers had us immunized against smallpox as children, it’s those born late 70’s onwards who may not have been vaccinated since I am sure they stopped in 1980, for the UK anyway
Coss
And those for whom infection parties are the preferred method of dealing with disease. Gosh how unwise that seems, and yet these dolts exist.

Marin Country, just over the Golden Gate Bridge, is one of the weariest counties in the USA, well educated etc… Yet, for some reason, it is also one of the most “Unvaccinated” counties in the USA…Also one of the highest levels of breast/“woman” cancer per capita in the USA… No idea what to make of all this…had 4 covid shots, also had covid 4 times, twice I started getting vaccinations…now being told vaccines work differently than they previously told me they worked… Oh well, play the game and carry on…
Coss
Yes, worth noting that a Covid vaccination is not a guarantee of "Not" getting Covid, it's a method to allow one's immune system to be prepared, to fight the Covid virus. So when/if one is exposed to the virus, one can survive. If one didn't get the shots, the odds of no tomorrow, become quite high. Like you, I've had the 4 shots, fortunately only 1 infection, and MLG too - she thought she was dying, but then she'd never been sick in her life, so the whole thing was very traumatic. Happily this has past. So in the future when I get Flu or Covid, I am happy to know, that I'll be ill for a while, but still able to perform my occupation: Coss - Reality Coach - banging heads against walls - since forever... Old Hippie
Correction, I had it 4 times, 3 times after I started vaccines…2 times within about 6 months or less…have to wait 90 days from last case to get yet another vaccine…. First time, I felt like that was it, near death, coughed so bad I nearly passed out…very sick and nasty… Omnicron version wasn’t so bad…last 2 times were bad, like a weak flu…. May get the 5th shot before we go to Surin next month…

Horrible experience. Developed into Viral Pneumonia. 5 days ICU. Doctors told the family if they could get me through the first night I was a chance of surviving. Off work for 4 months. Destroyed the lining of my esophagus so could eat properly for months. Lost about 40% of my body weight. Touch wood haven't had Covid to date. I believe the resistance to vaccinations there began when the numbers for autism among Marin youth began to soar. The folks there seemed to think that the vacs regimen given to their kids had something to do with it.
Coss
I think if we knew what causes autism, we'd know what causes noses. In my humble opinion, if you have a population of organisms, subject to nature's usual constrictions like food supply, disease, evolution favouring the ones that can survive because of fitness etc and then not knowing that floods are coming, that population tends to naturally weed out those, that can't run down a pig for dinner. Technology and medicine comes along, with the popular notion that any individual is worth saving (Steven Hawking), sometimes whole groups of people (autism) and the mothers (as a group) of same, will not brook any description of little autistic Johnny being made that way, it must have been mercury in the vaccine, asbestos in the milk or fish in the trees etc.
