If you visit Laos, you might want to add the Morning Market in Vientiane to your list. Went there a couple of days ago. Now they have a good selection of up-to-date DVD movies and games. Prices are something like 75-80 baht each. I bought 10 or so, and all working fine (you can ask to test them before you buy).

Best regards,

you're joking, aren't you, ib?

My last trip to Beijing, the guys with the music/DVD/VCD/software under their jackets were quite plentiful. Plenty of porn available too.

Also, you can find this stuff with cheap prices in Cambodia, Malaysia, and Vietnam. Just about anywhere in Asia actually.

The DVDs I bought in Hanoi, for example, were 15,000 VND or just over $1.00 US. Very good quality too.

I was thinking about adding more attributes (e.g.: stability of situation, quality of offer, prices, convenience of location etc.), but I doubt we will get all the required information and more importantly we will most likely not be able to keep it up to date. I think, this "generic approach" is ok if someone needs an entry point.

As for Office, it is a very popular product, so it should be available everywhere, where programs are sold. I bought my Office 11 in Cambo, PNH, Russian Market, USD 2 per disc. Office professional was available too. For Thailand/ Bangkok, I recommend Panthip (when it is open)/ Hollywood (nearby Panthip) or Seacon (what I have heard, there has been no changes to pre-APEC-times so far). Afair, MBK has only a limited selection on 4th/ 5th floor, but if you are there anyway, give it a try.
