I think it is going back to the PI. I have a buch of hard core sanuk seeking friends who were Thai evangelists(Thai pussy could do no wrong), to them Thailand was Pattaya and the scene there.

 

Those guys now talk about nothing except the PI and Angeles City in particular. They talk about how willing the girls are, teh GFE, the minimal language problems and the crazy sex.

 

Given that the PI is worse off economically than LOS I would fathom you may see the scene shift there on a larger scale for afficianadoes of SEA pussy. the prblem in the PI of course is the openly violent culture.

 

Too be honest I am thinking about making a run over there myself very soon to see how things have changed.

 

I also would not be surprised if you don't see a huge scene pop up around Macau given the billions of dollars being poured into the casino and entertainment venues there. Macau will truly be an international destination in the next decade. And as you know prostitutes today are like camp followers of old, they will follow the money and Macau will be full of money; serius money. The problem with Macau though will probaly be the prices and possible regulations by the Chinese govt, it will be interesting to see how it turns out.

Well, I think the communist govs are a bit wishy washy and change their mind and laws and attitude quite a bit. And yeah, the Phils has the scene, have had it for ages and from what I hear it can be a decent sanuk experience, although I do hear more about crime there, not so much around the P4P scene, but just the country in general. (Anyone with firsthand info of the recent P4P scene and Angeles area and violence and such? How about a report?)

 

What do you feel about Burma and a scene there once the Government finally goes democratic, if ever? I see Burma as ripe for such a scene, and a logistical next step with their beaches and economy. It's their infrastructure that's fucked and needs the work, their cultural sites also. But I see this as the next place in SEA for expats/sexpats/adventurers of the night to head for. Just needs a few changes in the current regime and laws and I could see Burma as the next "new" land of the wild and wooly and "wild west" atmosphere without too much trouble. I'd like to see the place/country with two or three other guys just to check it out and look into what scene there is there and what there is to see and do there at present, and look over the "possibilities" for the future. I truly think this is the next area once things change a bit.

 

Macau sounds good, but like you point out, will probably be expensive, and I hate commie countries. They are so screwed and "fickle" I guess would be the word. I could see a scenario in Burma where the money boys in Thailand build the casinos and beach resorts in Burma and the tourists would flock there because it is "new" territory, unexplored really the past 20 or 30 years. And it would or at leastcould/should be basically inexpensive as Thailand is/used to be. There are a lot of people there ready for the dollar flow once the regime either fucks off or at least starts to play ball in a more reasonable way.

VN also comes to mind, actually United Airlines just started service from the west coast through Hong Kong to VN for a decent fare which either just startedor starts soon. I can see an influx of Yanks there with this new service, which would consolidate certain areas and maybe grease enough moist greedy palms to see a growing farang scene such as BKK has, hopefully a bit more discrete though.

Well, I hear from well informed friends that Burma has become a choice week-end destination for rich enough thais who want to party and enjoy chicks, while staying away from possible scrutiny of their activities back home. It ain't cheap, though...

 

as farangs go, I doubt it, if only because Thailand has had a very special and long experience, permissive thru decades of catering to sexual needs of tourists, at prices that still defy competition anywhere. This kind of scene will not prop up for the asking in Burma, IMO of course.

 

From what i gathered myself, the burmese freelancers I encountered in big hotel discos or smaller local joints, think nothing of asking 50$ for ST, while certainly not throwing any hint of that famous thai "GF experience". More mercenary at the onset, apparently.

 

I also think that, if i hear some about Cambodia today, that the NGO, child sex international lawyers, and "no sex tourism" lobbies do have now a way to be heard from SEA govnmts, especially as the americans have sent the message more vibrantly lately. All fine with me, BTW.

 

That there may be a scene, sure, economics of poverty and greed drives will answer to that, but i doubt on the scale of a vibrant industry worth trumpeting on the world sex guides. More like mouth to ear type.

I don't know much about Burma to view it as a potential sex scene. I visited there only in a tourist capacity. Pure culture vulture mode so to speak. I think there are so many factors that go into making a place ripe for P4P. Burma could be one of those under the radar type of places simply because they will not have the marketing clout of a Thailand, hell most people don't even know the name has changed to Myanmar.

 

I don't think Vietnam will become a huge P4P destination, given it already has a decent one in place but I think that given the huge amount of money entering the country from overseas and the eventual re-patriation these foreign currency rich Viets, along with their Western education and values, the country will not need to depend upon prostitution as a primary income source, the way Thailand does.

 

I really think the difference for VN is the fact that they will get a huge boost from returning Viets with money and education, that will want to put the country on the map with both tourism and industrial endeavors that will at some point eclipse Thailand.

 

I also think with the strong US ties that these returniing Viets will have, the US based women's groups, NGO's and other gender equality based organizations will make sure that VN does not turn into a den of P4P(at least outwardly that is). Heck if VN is smart they will use these foreign based Viets to raise huge sums for schools and other educational endeavors. Can you imagine how much cash could be raised in the US alone if they ran a few "save the children" type commercials?

 

Vietnam has the proper geography, natural resources, foreign born brain capital and cash to not even have to go the Thai route. That is of course if their government allows it to happen.

Interesting ideas flowing in a 'affair' thread, but anyhow I tend to follow thoughs with jj that VN ain't gonna happen as P4P even their food tend to be better/more similar to thai than mainland china's.

 

What really is needed to 'kickstart' a new p4p nation is the basic infrastructure of easily accessable(semi/quasi legal) brothels/mps/gogos/clubs/etc as we know from only LOS & PH.

Myanmar perhaps is an worthy possibility along with Laos with their similarity & proximity to LOS while it's gonna depend highly on the ability to 'grow' this p4p scene...

Cambodia I'd personally think could most easily transform itself to a p4p for the masses as it has the closest p4p infrastructure & proximity/similarity to LOS while PH & Indonesia I'd bet as runners up.

Next up as outsiders I'd put Macau/Hainan/China as a huge country with numerous potential party/beach cities given the government are gonna losen up & allow it!

Well, there's this thing that because the name-change was put in effect by a despised dictatorship, many people in the west want to say Burma still. Some type of foreign civil disobedience.... Never thougt of asking burmese (myanmarese?) what they preferred.

Actually I believe the US government refuses to acknowledge the name change as legitimate because the government is not legitimate. I think it's a political thang.
