iuytrede
according to Thai TV: Earthquake of 8.9 onRichter scale (that's VERY big) off Sumatra. Tsunami of 7 meters killed about 300 in Thailand, mostly farang, hardest hit are Phuket and Pipi (not much is left there except the 2 big hotels), but the whole Andaman cost from Satun to Ranong is affected. Tsunamis killed about 4000 in Sri Lanka, 2000 in India, more in Bangla Desh and the Maldives. Malaysia only 7 dead. There are damages in Chiang Rai and Chiang Mai, but the quake could hardly be felt in Bkk.

Last time I looked, there were approaching 800 people viewing his pics!

Guest
you mean, like, completely flat, not surfable at all? anyhow, right now is a special on ITV, they said in a few minutes, after the ads, there will be a video clip of the wave one farang appearantly managed to capture on pang na bay. limbo
A little bit of surf, not that great tho. Well, it wasn't actually action shots of the wave but more like the water rising around the hotel, not that dramatic.

Prosal
Great link Stickman, pics are really inconceivables. Beside the human tragedy, a financial disaster too .... those pics make me wonder how many YEARS will be necessery to rebuilt all those damaged restaurants, bars, shops, hotels, ect .... the seafront doesn't exist no more ..... Seems Phuket will be out of the touristic schedule for a long time.
