settled in Cha-Am last November after 4 yrs commuting to the UK.

It's really a Thai resort with just a handful of farangs with several

thousand empty properties held off the market by banks etc.

and rents are reasonable. got a place 100m from the beach.

experimenting with bachelor style living for the moment. nice

to hear from you. you living in Thailand?

'Yeah, some Thai ladies do love India. My ex, well let's call her common law wife of some ten years, certainly does, does so a lot in fact. But these open-minded Thai ladies are a minority. I once went to India with another Thai girl, and after a few days she went on a sort of strike, refusing to leave the hotel room and to eat ("ahaan khaek men!").'

Umm...let me get this straight. Just because this Thai girl of yours doesn't like Indian food that makes her one of the majority of Thai ladies who are narrow-minded?????

How do you come up with is minority and mojority Thai ladies stufff ? A survey? How large is your sample size?

It seems that you appreciate Thai ladies (including your ex) who like India just like you do then it makes them open-minded !

Don't you think your view is somewhat 'narrow-minded'?

By the way, why is it that you didn't marry your ex? Because she's a bg? She is a normal TG but sucked your money dry? Or she ran away with someone else? OR you got bored of her or vice versa. OR you cheated on her and she found out?

Or you didn't want to share your hard earn money with her? Just like many views of the posters here.

Oh..forgot my last guess...YOU DON'T WANT TO PAY THE DOWY ?! wink.gif

Man..this board really changes me LOL

Hope you are not mad at me. I just want to know your rationalisations.

i have a point to make here about sin sot.

a lot of bar girls will tell you that their previous mariage is finished and that they have a child from it ,that is why they are working to support the child.

Did the first thai husband pay sinsot?

If she now marries a farang is he expected to pay sinsot again.

Is the payment only applicable to new brides ?

if a woman gets married several times will her family reap the rewards ?

Hi,

"Did the first thai husband pay sinsot?"

Likely, but only a small amount (think 10-30K).

"If she now marries a farang is he expected to pay sinsot again."

Again, likely.

"Is the payment only applicable to new brides ?"

Yes, that is how it usually is. However, often when a farang enters the picture the rules change. Drastically.

Very few, if any, Thais will pay for a woman who has been married before, nor would they pay more than say 30-40K max for a country girl.

Sanuk!

At the end, in any country, a poor girl marrying a westerner would consider how much luck she has, and her family too. But somehow, in LOS, we'd be convinced to think we have to keep paying for the prize even though it's used goods. It's the world upside down, IMO. Yep, as they say: only in Thailand!

You'd be convinced?

You HAVE a choice, actually.

If you don't want to pay- leave her.

As easy as that.

GTG.
