I went into a Japanese bar off of Sukhumvit Soi 5 just a couple of days ago. I made it past all the ladies sitting outside at the entrance. I was thrown out by the Japanese owner after ordering a Hiroshima Cocktail. :dunno:

They prefer for whatever reason Farangs. Ask girls in Thai spots or J-spots why they don't go with Farangs.... Each to his own I would say.

Hmm - tell that to all the people who have suffered from discrimination over the years.

I just wonder why YOU make such a big issue out of it?

Who are the least of all discriminated people world wide? White caucasian males with Dollars or Euros in their hands, because their countries hold the financial and political power since hundreds of years (and have long tradition of racism). And now there is one occasion that you are not allowed to enter a certain kind of nightlife spot since you are a WASP and you complain bitterly. How about a Sit-In in front of a J-bar?

As I said before on the same time you go to NP and SC where racism might not as visible as in J-bars, but no Thai males are allowed there, which of course has only very rational and un-racist reasons (since we punters are all sooo open minded ::)

::

IMHO in this case you lost it a little bit.

What do you mean "They?" are you not a white guy with US dollars or Euros also? Asfor who is the most discriminated against, it depends where you are and who you are. Look at all the tribal wars in Africa, many are based in some racist views as well. Raciism is a lot more than white vs. non-white...look at Thais, SOME of the lighter "Chinese types" look down on the darker Issaarn types...

Trouble with racism is, you can't discuss it without someone eventually calling you a racist...then their are the people who chastise others for honest opinions or thoughts while acting like they are never racist or predjudicial...

I think a lot of it has to do with the Thai owners worried about The girls Boy friends comming in and disrupting business, and also the fear that many might be undercover law enforcement which will either extort more money out of them, or else get evidence which will shut them down...either way, could be bad for business. Either way, I have seen Thais in the places you mentioned.

What i want to know is: if there is so much money to be made with the japanese guys, how come a fair amount of top tier BGs don't want to go with them? When asked, these girls usually don't provide a rational reason.

The main reason I am told by a lot of the girls is, The Japanese guys can get really weird and degrading. More than a few girls told me a lot of these guys don't want to fuck, they want to do something "weird" in a Bar girls book...many supposedly get a bit demanding and rough, some damned right violant.

That's something one sees a lot with Japanese porn (not that I look at any of course)....sadism (real or fake) bondage and male domination. Not saying all Jap men are into it...or Westerners aren't...but I'm sure it's a factor in Thai bar-girls thinking.

Dog,

Just a funny thought...why were some guys bitching about Indians and arabs being kept out of bars, and saying they would boycott these bars...Arabs, Inidians etc go to bars where they know they aren't wanted, but no one accuses them of having a childish mind, or says they are looking for trouble...yet, you go to a Japanese ONLY club, and get accused of this...as we can't boycott these clubs (since we aren't allowed in) and most Japanese won't boycott them, and would no doubt support them for being exclusive of non Japanese, then what other recourse do we have...? and why don't the people bitching about the discrimination in the Soi 7 BG complain about these Japanese only bars...seems a double standard...

Maybe it's because you keep grouping people together. Like your discrimatory views against the Japanese people(Yes, perhaps even a tad bid racist). Some of them prefer to stay in their private clubs, some of them prefer to go to the farang oriented ones. You still deem it necessary to group them all together and say the actions of this one group of japanese contradict the actions of the other group and somehow blame them all together as a race.

It's just as how in this example I said it was a childish view and yet you somehow grouped me with some other people who wanted to boycott the bars banning indians and arabs.

Just a funny thought... perhaps those Indians and Arabs being kept out of bars aren't just trying to go there because they aren't wanted. Maybe that is why they have some support.

Weird,

Nice you took the first quote out of context...only used the part that suited you...pretty fuckin pathetic dude. Here was the other part you ommitted...

"... Either way, it has an effect, sometimes it is fun, some of these Japanese guys want to break out of the box or type of club they are used to. Some of these guys are o.k..."

I THEN went on to say...

"...What pisses me off in a major way is they way SOME of them will come into "our bars" fuck up the atmosphere, and then deny us access to "their bars." ..."

You will notice I said SOME, as in NOT ALL! That was pretty clear cut. I take some offense to you "Grouping" me in with what you preceive as "people who group others" by mis stating my post.

I further resent you stating I have "...discrimatory views against the Japanese people(Yes, perhaps even a tad bid racist)..."

Where did I say I looked down on the Japanese? or favored discriminating against them? You are right, I am a bit racist, but not against the Japanese. (see below)

BTW, I think it o.k. to not like SOME people of a different race for various reasons, That is, I can hate a guy who is an annoying pain in the ass and stinks, and also happens to be of a different race. If that makes me racist, so what? Trouble is SOME guys Want to take the high ground and act like they never had a racist or predjudicial thought... O.k. plenty of stuff for you to twist and take out of context here, go have fun.

Oh, BTW, in the USA, I am considered a Minority, and I am white...have fun figuring that one out...

BTWII just so some of you guys get the idea here, white is not a race...it is a characteristic of many races...so is black, brown many various skin tones...

Gents,

Yes, well, as we are on the subject of racism and predjudice, might I suggest that many members of this board do indeed seem to have some sort of issue with people from various countries. For example, one poster here made comments (in a different thread mind you) about Americans and Brits. Is this also not a form of racism and predjudice?

I have read the comments of many here, and all sappy sniveling cowardly sensitivity refuse aside, I would suggest to those of the Politically correct brigade to police themselves before making comment on others. There is not a man among us with out some skeleton of racism or ghost of bigotry and predjudice in his closet.

Best Regards-BST

And then you forget about the groups of them who might not have been interested in the japanese only clubs in the first place. You still group them all together as somehow having a relation to taking part in a Japanese only club.

Where did I say I looked down on the Japanese? or favored discriminating against them? You are right, I am a bit racist, but not against the Japanese. (see below)

You do show resentment toward them in your posts. In your eyes you seem to think that they all have accessed the japanese only clubs and then either stayed there or moved onto yours.

Nobody said it wasn't okay to hate certain people of a different race. When you start generalizing about a race as a group is when it becomes racist. If you want to talk about twisting stuff and taking it out of context, you do it pretty well in your posts.

And I'm mixed. I've been on both sides of the fence, and sometimes been not excepted by either side. What the hell is your point?

"...Nobody said it wasn't okay to hate certain people of a different race. When you start generalizing about a race as a group is when it becomes racist...."

No, you are wrong. It becomes racist when I take actionto elevate myself/race above theirs. Generalizing and stereotyping is just plain bigoted and predjudicial (if I use the preconceived notions to judge them) Stereotyping is also, in many cases, true...that is how we got the stereotypes...

"...You do show resentment toward them in your posts. In your eyes you seem to think that they all have accessed the japanese only clubs and then either stayed there or moved onto yours...."

Where? most likely you missed a big part of something here...I did say I had a problem with guys going into white clubs but the SAME GUYS denying me access to theirs. It was obviously not aimed at the Japanese guys who don't bother with Japanese clubs, who I addressed earlier. Do I hate the Japanese? No. Do I hate certain people who hapen to be Japanese? Yes. Big difference, and not at all based on race. I save my racial hatred for others...

You mentioned you were "Mixed" and got it from both sides...boo fucking hoo for you dude, get in line and join the club...I blend well, so people often say shit to me they wouldn't if they knew...it is when I tell them what is what that they look and go "...oh yeah..." the fuckers... Don't worry about "picking a team" you fit in where you do, wouldn't matter if you are mixed or not, that is the same across the board...the problem I see with a lot of kids is they want to play the martyr or let themselves be defined and wear being mixed/minority as the sole basis for who they are.

"...And I'm mixed. I've been on both sides of the fence, and sometimes been not excepted by either side. What the hell is your point? ..."

The point is (and that of my previous rant) is simple. You use a lot of "you, they etc" in you posts, not "I we, us" it is as though you have put yourself in a separate category. It appears to me that you are lumping and grouping here yourself. Seems you feel the racism you perceive is white against Japanese...so I was letting you know I was also considered a minority in the USA, in fact, technically, a double minority, or I'll declare myself a "super minority!" :)

Further point is, and this is aimed a bit at you in particular...there are more than a few guys here who act as though they are not at all racist, bigoted or predjudice, you seem to be one of them, judging by this thread. Frankly, I'm sick of it...(the sick part is not aimed at you directly).

The views a lot of people have about the Japanese, are not racist as you claim...the are predjudicial, and their is a difference. Once we meet and mix with them, we decide if we like them or not. Some times it is no issue, sometimes it is.

"...You do show resentment toward them..."

I have resentment towards a lot of people. I am a screwed up mess with lots of issues...don't confuse that with being a racist.

"...I'm mixed..."

May I ask what is your mix? does that mix play any part in your feelings and thoughts in this thread? if so, you might be a little racist yourself...or a little predjudicial...

As I said in a different place somewhere on the baord, maybe here earlier, it is impossible to discuss any issue involving someone of a different race, without someone ultimately calling you a racist. It is too easy, and also just a plain cop out. My opinion is you and a few others are too quick to yell racist.

I got the BS sensitivity crap in Public school here (San Francisco area), this is what I recall...

Bigot-

Doesn't like someone, or a group of people, usually has no reason, no experience, just doesn't like them. Usually hates or dislikes many different groups.

Predjudice-

has a preconceived notion of people, may base judgements and behavior/interactions with people based on these preconceptions... Predjudice may be limited to one group, or more groups, usually is founded in some experience in dealing with people of those groups. (Most people fit into this category) Predjudice/preconceptions can be changed with interactions.

Racist-

Some one, or a group who activelyworks to keep another group of people down. or Oppressed...

These are the basic definitions, feel free to write your own I guess, but these seem to fit in most cases...

I think some people live in a totally different world to me. The ideal world does and never will exist. Some people just need to wrap their heads around that. Only comment I would like to make is that the only country I have ever been pointed at and ridiculed in was Japan. But it is also the only country where I have expeienced people putting the day on hold to assist me. This is old stuff guys.

This may be a good time to sing along with an old Jim Morrison favorite...2, 3....

"People are strange when you?re a stranger

Faces look ugly when you?re alone

Women seem wicked when you?re unwanted

Streets are uneven when you?re down

When you?re strange

Faces come out of the rain

When you?re strange

No one remembers your name

When you?re strange..." repeat....
