Topcatta
Actually the vegetarian version of Som Tam is great! It is the raw crab or the dried shrimps take give it the strange taste. The fried grasshoppers and bugs taste like Chips. The larves just like chicken meat. Just watched a CSI where they were eating milipeeds or centipeeds. Alive. Not the totally ancient ones but the ones with the red heads whos sting lasts for months... Anyway gone over to pure vegetarinism a long time ago. Much more easy on the mind, body and Spirit. Old Hippie
I don't like the frog dishes...tried Snake and dog also...dog was o.k. but it made me feel really strange, and kept me up...same with snake...would pass on both if offered again...well, maybe dog would be o.k.... Oh, yeah -- the Thai version of sukiyaki. Bleah. About as yummy as yesterday's dish water.

ALHOLK
Hi! Actually it's not rotten, it's fermented. We eat it in Sweden and so do the Norwegians (where Hua Ngu comes from). I'm from southern Sweden so I can agree that it smells like shit, however it's taste is good. regards ALHOLK
