trooper
Isn't liver parasites a problem with the crabs? I remember having read that the liver parasite problem in Isaan is related to eating pla raa. That stuff is absolutely horrible but I also dislike nam plaa
FreeTime
While walking down Soi 4 in Nana last winter I saw a roadside foodstall vender stirring what appeared to be a vat of blood. The vat was beside the foodstall, not being cooked. I don't know for sure that it was blood, but certainly appeared to be. Seafood is OK for me, but I avoid pork and beef at all times. Does anyone know if pork or beef blood is used in any Thai cooking? Thanks.
Dumsoda
Yep, Especially Pork Blood. They steam it into a solid block and cut it into cubes. Common in Kwaiteaow (spelling?) and Gaeng kiewan Gai. Cheers

Bangkoktraveler
(1)Blood poured on your noodles. (2) Prawn pounded to a pulp along with hot peppers. Sounds good but they forget to cook. (3) Chicken that was culled because of possible bird flu. (4) water bugs. (5) Dried frogs. (6) Ants. (7) Intestines. (8) Facial parts of animals. gummigut
Blood shouldn't be poured on noodles. It should be gelled into cubes first! <>
