Dude, don't forget the Mayans, American Indian, Canadian First Nations, Australian Aboriginals, New Zealands Maori, Hawaiians, Filipinos, Africans (American and South Africa's blacks), the Arctic Inuit and others - more recently Afghanistan and Iraq. In the Dark Ages (which we caused) looting, pillaging, slaughtering and raping was something we did to wile away the winter days when nothing would grow, plus it kept us warm. When Christianity arrived we had to justify it to the Big Guy upstairs so we invented all these threats that had to be dealt with as violently as possible while we pretended we didn't enjoy it. No IRS, no local councils and all of that other government crap. p.s. The early Germanic folks had the right idea. The men went hunting or fishing, and sat around drinking beer.
