shygye
At the zoo I was charged the same as the TG and I saw no sign that indicated a different farang price. This was 2 years ago.
Old Hippie
Last time I went to the zoo, SSG bought the tickets, and saved me a few bhat...funny, I think Thais get in free at Vimonmek, or a lot less...a friend of a friend is Filipino, and often gets the Thai price in such places... Nervous_Dog
Clear signs "Foreigner" and "Thai" in English, which is unusual, they usually write that in Thai so whitey don't know he's being screwed. Want photo's? If I'm right how much beer you willing to give me? DOG

Nervous_Dog
Yes! They are a geat spot. If you go on some weekends, no idea which ones, they have kids learning traditional thai music in the gardens. Another good one is the ex PM's house, Sirikit off Sathorn Road near the top past the embassies DOG
Donut
I think the zoo is great- I bring my kids every year. One occation that stands out was a day after a night out at NP. Had to go to the zoo with missus and kids. I was so wasted and suddenly a Thai guy steps up and places a snake around my neck- and no, I was not a part of a show. Well, at least the kids found it funny.
..
There is also an outstanding and very large teak house, surrounded by shop houses, on the SE corner of Petchaburi & Phaya Thai Rds (on Petchaburi) nearby the Ratchatewi BTS station. The only entry into the compound is from Petchburi Rd. Not sure if it's abandoned or not, but I rarely see signs of life there. It looks very cool and I love to see the inside. Heck, I'd love to live in it. Anyone have any idea of its history? Here's a Google Earth pix, location 13°45'08.34"N by 100°31'56.22"E: Cheers, SD
