follies
I am in urgent need of a good slap-up English breakfast....you know, the works (egg, bacon, REAL sausage, tomato, etc). Tired of the hotel b'fast buffet crap. Any suggestions anyone? I'm staying on Sukhumvit, but anywhere in Bangkok really.
The_Munchmaster
Get yourself along to The Dubliner, on the corner of Sukhumvit and Washington Square (just after Soi 22) which has excellent food, including The Fry (Baht 350) and the Mini Fry (Baht 200). Also a nice place to hang out for a few hours during the day.
Ckrisg
Chequers or Jools on Soi Nana. Dubliner as mentioned, or take the skytrain to Silom, Irish Exchange (Molly Malones) on soi Convent.
Mekong
Jools even though I have not eaten there since Matt and Rung took over.
The_Munchmaster
Last time I ate at Jools my Shepherds Pie consisted of runny mince with bits of potato floating in it. Although a long time ago I have never been back. Also never go to Nana so not really in my part of town.
elef
Thanks for the link - Soi 3 is also Soi Nana, but here clearly Soi 4.
torrenova
Bt350 for a full brekkie shows just how far out of touch some things are in Bangers these days ! I don't think you can spend that on a breakfast in Pattaya outside of the 5* hotels.
Old Hippie
Agreed...maybe for a buffet?
junglesoup
350 baht is more than you pay in the UK. And the thing is. Its not even that good for 350baht. Yes the dubliner food is ok, its certainly not bad. But for 350 baht for a fry up it could be better. So, is there a market for a restaurant that does a really good value breakfast? Seems like it. Fiery Jack
Hasn't Jools been completely done out? Or is that Chequers? The bar's in the middle now, used to be along one wall? The joint on the corner on the left hand side if you stagger down Soi Nana for about 100 yards after falling out of Morning Night. Apparently. I had a good "English Breakfast" in there in March. 6 bottles of Chang beer and no solids. I remember the owner feller saying he'd pulled the place apart and remodelled it. And I remember him also saying, "Any man who can drink 6 bottles of Chang before 10AM gets my vote.." Or something like that. jack
