I was deeply wounded about recent accusations that I was anti American so hereâ??s the opportunity to say nice stuff about the US. The Food. The US has great food regardless of what some critics say. It takes thousands of years to build a true national cuisine but the ethnic fusion has produced some great results here. New England Chowder and real Baked Beans. (I love this stuff). Southern Fried Chicken. (Even KFC at a pinch). Cajun/Creole food. California/Mexican/Texan. (A personal favorite). Pizza with everything. (Hold the pineapple). Burgers and hotdogs from the â??good placesâ?Â. The Music Country and Western does it for me, Iâ??d be battling to name an modern Aussie country singer. Why would you go to a Thai restaurant for pizza? A lot of the 50s sounds and 60â??s non hippy stuff that ruined the later UK sound. The Beach Boys, Elvis, Buddy Holly, Roy Orbison. Traditional Jazz Thereâ??s just too many to name. Literature. Where do you start? My bookshelves have Larry McMurtry, Pat Conroy, John Irving, Steven King, Michael Conelly, W.E.B Griffen, Steinbeck, Hemmingway, Bill Bryson, James Jones, Leon Uris, Robert Ruarkâ?¦. And more and more and more. Clothing Jeans, Hats men can actually wear. Tee Shirts? Ideas The American constitution is one of the greatest documents ever written.
