chuckwoww
Kinda nice in those days. People who didn't know better all went to Patpong. Mind you that was a lot more fun then too.

..
I remember the names, but don't recall the bars... Seems to me that there was an English pub there too -- The Rabbit and the ??? Cheers, SD
chuckwoww
Don't remember that one. I do recall there was nothing much in the middle of the square...just a few food stalls. Seems to me it really started getting popular when Ermita and Olongapo were shut down.
..
Maybe it was The Elephant & something. Or maybe I'm imagining it. I hated the loss of the car park, but later made Pharaoh's one of my hangouts as it was a prime people-watching spot. Go figure. chuckwoww
I've done my people watching in various places over the years. Used to like Lucky Lukes, outside Rainbow, Hog's Breath. My last vantage point was Cathouse but that got too busy for me.

LookieLookie
Sukhumvit Road has only become a so called red-light district due to tight arses who won't pay barfines and sad bastards who arrive in Bkk after closing time and can't wait till the following afternoon/night to get a shag. i can wait! actually no im lying i really cant wait till the next day!!!! Mekong
Have to disagree here. Sukhumvit turned into a freelance hangout because of Purachaiâ??s ridiculous social order crusade. Before this nonsense started there have been plenty of late night places to go (Nana Disco, good old Rainbow 2000 and of course Thermae). Nobody had to be bothered sitting on the street after 2:00am. Hardy, I agree 100%, it was only after Purachai's Social Order Campagain circa 2001 that lower Sukhumvit (odd side between 3 and 21) became the street brothel that it is today.
