khunsanuk
Hi, It's a bit too late, I know , but just to chime in as well. My wife absolutely loves to get flowers, which is both good and bad. The bad part is since I've given her flowers on several occasions now, she expects them every time and will get pissed if I forget As mentioned flowers are not cheap in Thailand and even a smallish bouquet will run you 500 Baht or so. Not a big deal for most Westerners, but for you average Thai office worker that may very well be a large chunk of his wages that day. Sanuk! rchapstick
If you're gonna do it BuBi, send it to her at a place/time when she will be around others (at work, with her family, etc.). Major Face gain! Agree with KS ... Thai women, like all other women , learn to expect the flowers on B'day & Valentines Day. Once you start, you are doomed for life. khun_khon_neua
Really, 500 baht? I can buy nice roses in our neighborhood wet market for 10 baht each. Donâ??t even need to speak Thai to get them. :content:
khunsanuk
Hi, I know. Roses at the market are cheap (5 - 10 Baht), but getting them packaged up nicely into a bouquet and you're looking at quite a bit more than just the price of the roses. Sanuk! khun_khon_neua
The stall I go to (infrequently these days, as I have been a particularly good boy lately ) they have ribbons and such and put together a nice package for a few baht more. Still, probably not the same as going to a full fledged florist.
CTO
KS - your going to wrong places - you can et arrangement of tropical flowers that would cost $100's in west for far less than 500 baht
khunsanuk
Hi, Guys, you are forgetting one thing. Thai women full well know the price of these things and the gratitude you get afterwards is often related to the amount you spent Sanuk!
buffalo_bill
the gratitude you get afterwards is often related to the amount you spent Sanuk! Oh beloved leader , your wisdom again appears to show no limits , for further confirmation please see my initial post : " I pride myself in having wasted a fortune already in sending flowers through the world whenever the loved one celebrates .. " What you say it the full truth and nothing but . BuBi Though what I recommend is : don't get them started on handbags or shoes .
