Stickman
only back here because I have been reading the notstick vs stick controversy for years. how the fuck can he get 6 years in jail? Surely Clayton has paid/greased the wheels a little bit somewhere along the line to get such a harsh punishment for this shit. Unfortunately it is posts exactly like this that cause problems for all involved. Clayton most definitely HAS NOT greased any wheels. He has done everything by the book. itsmedave
Curious about this business about sites having to become pay/membership sites. Wouldn't it be possible to get around the problem by making the dues 1 penny for ten years? Or perhaps, you would have to wirte a poem to obtain membership? Would either of these things be enough to get around the censorship of public sites?

Would either of these things be enough to get around the censorship of public sites? As soon as the paywall goes up membership goes down and most pages/forums will die a slow death from a lack of new members and inbreeding. The situation might be different in a few years when micropayment systems will haven been established by the newspaper companies and people will have got used to it. But this will be too late for the current LOS related sites.
khunsanuk
Hi, I don't think public vs member sites makes much difference. Two words for you that would solve any censorship issues: 'invitation only' Sanuk!

This will become purely a veterans place.
khunsanuk
Hi, "So how will you get new members who are just preparing her first trip to LOS? This will become purely a veterans place." You can't. Only way to fully control who gets to read/post though. Sanuk!
BelgianBoy
Unfortunately it is posts exactly like this that cause problems for all involved. C In my opinion, and with all respect, unfortunately your post does exactly the same. Clayton most definitely HAS NOT greased any wheels. He has done everything by the book. And why would anyone just accept your word for that, as involved party ? BB
