Pom Michael
How about putting some photos in the Sponsor section to compare?
doxx
This thread is a joke for more reasons beyond just telling people to buy a 200k Baht camera body at MBK... The claim that you don't need a flash when shooting a D3s at night is ridiculous and shows the TS should have just bought a cheap point-and-shoot camera instead of a top of the line semi-pro body. Your (lack of) need for a flash would be more dependent on (aperture of) glass used, presence of a tripod or noise inducing high ISO settings... All of which can be added to any camera. cavanami
The little point and shoot Fuji that I use has like an ISO of 3600, so can do night time shots without a flash. I suggest that you check out Steve's website, as he is an excellent photographer and knows cameras! Steve is on Stick's site weekly and you can send him questions. http://www.stickmanweekly.com/Photo/DigitalPhotographyIndex.html

tomc12
I think you misunderstood my posting. I wasn't telling anyone to buy the camera; just where it is available. As far as taking pictures at night, you are years behind in the technology. You might check this site to help bring you up to speed or check out the info at dpreview: 1) http://www.ephotozine.com/article/Nikon-D3S-12513 2) http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/NikonD3s/

Hugh_Hoy
tomc12...dpreview.com is an excellent resource, I agree. Mekong...I too use flash extensively for daylight shots...but mostly for fill light and with backlite subjects. Otherwise, use can "disturb" the natural lighting that may be producing an effect I am trying to capture. I always get a chuckle when I see folks at stadiums shooting off their point and shoots at action on a field. Don't they realize that they're only gonna light up the backs of heads about 3 rows down (max)? 555555555 I did purchase a canon 580 II EX speedlite last year. The thing is AWESOME. Could damn near light up the entire Nana Parking lot from 100 feet away. 5555555555 HH
The_Munchmaster
I'll be purchasing a Canon 7D in the next couple of months (about a third of the price of a D3s) so if anyone is interested in a mint 40D and battery grip let me know? Stickman
The G11 *is* a cool camera and don't let anyone tell you otherwise! I have a Canon SLR but will probably pick up a G11 because I want something smaller to put in my pocket on those occasions when an SLR is more than I want / need.
