SpiceMan
Airline passengers are facing massive disruption across the UK after an ash cloud from a volcanic eruption in Iceland grounded planes. The Air Traffic Control Service (Nats) said no flights would be allowed in or out of UK airspace from midday to 1800BST amid fears of engine damage. Airports operator BAA confirmed all flights at Heathrow, Stansted and Gatwick would be suspended from midday. And in Scotland, authorities have already shut all their airports. The restrictions, in accordance with international civil aviation policy, were imposed after the Met Office warned ash could clog engines. Passengers were advised to contact their carriers prior to travel. More here

unit731
We, at the Tin Hat Society, firmly believe that this pseudo volcano was the product of El Kyda. They have learned how to exploit geo-thermal physics. Something to do with the Pythagorean Theorem and gun powder.

Coss
I'll throw this bit of controversy in here: Great Big Clouds of Ash like this are known to have a cooling effect on the planet. Is this cloud big enough to halt global warming? or, if not and global warming halts, or, is never demonstrated to have really got going, will the global warming weenies, use this as an excuse for "being right all along"? Ahh ahha ha ha, ha ha...
