Great video. America has the potential to become the greatest country again. But for that to happen they have to admit there is a problem first. This is really really strong!

By the way I have a solution for America's gun problem. Allow the selling of guns. But ban ammunition, it says nowhere in the constitution people have a right to ammo now does it? No ammunition renders the guns obselete

What the fuck is it going to take for US politicians to take on the gun lobby ? Even if they did manage to enact any worthwhile legislation, I suspect that it's too late - getting millions of weapons off the streets would take decades, and there will always be a black market somewhere.

 

I'll guess you'll have to start at one point.

For all non-US people the US love for guns is quite strange. Compared to any other industrialized country the number of Americans killed by guns is absolutely staggering.

The new "Stand your ground" law is absolutely disgusting and it's being hated by US police and prosecutors.

But it seems that US politicians live in deep fear of the NRA.

Alright - then give EVERYONE guns - from 12 year olds to geriatrics. I read an interview with a Texan many years ago who claimed that 'an armed society is a polite society'. He went on to say that you dont start trouble in a Texas bar when you know that half the customers are likely to be carrying - I wonder how that logic holds up to reality ?

Despite being surrounded by armed military, he killed 13 and wounded 29 people : the key element was surprise. You dont expect 'your own people' to turn their weapons on you - shades of the ANA soldiers shooting coalition 'allies' then running off to join/rejoin Al Qaeda.

 

Finally, lets consider the situation in Russia - surely a land where the 'bad guys' have truckloads of guns ? I expect that some have forgotten Beslan:

An extremely heavy-handed 'kill em all' response from the Russians saw 334 bodies, many summarily executed in their seats, on the floor of the theatre

when the smoke cleared. That was almost 10 years ago, was NOT initiated by a lone gunman with no political motive, and the bulk of the Russian population seems content to get hammered and pass out on icy streets instead of shooting schoolchildren.

 

If a country as fucked up as Russia can keep a lid on mass shootings, why cant the US ?

Forgot to add - initial reports were the security at the school 'buzzed' the killer through because his mother worked there - the media is now claiming he 'forced his way in'. Crackerjack security, guys - absolutely first rate.

Your examples, other than the movie theater shooting and military shooting, were workplace and school killings. Concealed weapons by citizens will not be allowed on those properties. Again, only the bad guy is able to to that. Making my point for me, thank you.

 

The movie example you gave, if you would have read all the way to the bottom, showed that backround checks to buy a gun, increased by 43% the very next week. Gun sales also increased that week in Washington, Florida, California, and Georgia.

 

The military base shooting....did you read it?? Clearly, where he began his assault, the soldiers were unarmed. 2 soldiers "charged" and were quickly dispatched. Another soldier threw a table at him and was shot. Finally, outside, people also had weapons and the shooter himself was eventually shot mulitple times.

 

Again, I am not a gun nut, don't even own one, but it's common sense to me that if I were gonna go blow people away, I would NOT go where people had guns too. And taking them away, legally, will only allow the criminals to have them and then these types of things will only increase.

I ALWAYS kept the guns I owned in a locked gun cabinet, with the ammo locked in another cabinet, NEVER together.

 

Now they have trigger locks for guns, adding to the safety.

 

The mother appears to be lax in the area of locking up guns for safety.

 

As for taking guns away...when there were no guns, killings went on.

 

This week (or last) there was a man with a knife here in China that killed a bunch of people, so

much for taking guns away.

 

If these insane people want to kill, they will find the means; cars, trucks, knives, baseball bats, etc.

 

Better to enforce the laws we have. Better to REALLY PUNISH these criminals, like executing them!
