You don't work for Fox Noise by any chance do you, HH? I've just watched them squirming to figure out how to turn it into an anti Obama story. First they were all gung-ho for action even calling in a British red neck to criticize Obama for waiting for a UN resolution. Now they've turned isolationist just like you, HH. Poor old Obama...damned if he does, damned if he doesn't.

First you whinge about USA not leading the way

>>"Probably too late. Obama, our "spectator-in-chief", has been busy sorting out his March Madness brackets and playing golf since saying Gadaffy "must go". Kind of embarassing to have to follow the French into a conflict."

Then, when he does act, you complain

>>"So, once again, Wanker-in-Chief Obama readies our armed forces for another conflict"

... you can't have it both ways, mate!

What would your response have been if Obama had stood by and allowed another Rwanda massacre?... 10,000 killed already.

I think Obama has played it all very cannily, a truly world statesman.... been planning logistics, gathering allies, UN support, and the Arab League on board too. Unlike Republican Bushit who was determined to start a war in Iraq on any pretext of non existent WMD. At least this is a popular uprising.

Notice the USA is not going to send any ground troops, so don't get your knickers in a twist.

Nah...my panties aren't in a twist. And, no, not affiliated with any TV syndicate.

And I think it's a big stretch to say I was complaining about the Big Zero acting too late. I merely made an observation that I thought it was too late to stop the carnage (without saying anybody should or should not).

FWIW, I'd have stayed out of it. It's a civil war. If the rebels want to pull on "Superman's" cape, that's up to them. But don't come begging me to rescue them.

Add: The U.S. "Commander-in-Chief" has troops in Iraq under fire, troops in Afghanistan under fire, military personnel assisting Japan in it's hour of need, joblessness at home remains static, the value of the USD falling, a record federal budget deficit. What's he doing? Getting a tan on Ipanema this week :cussing:

There is PLENTY of disgust in these quarters with Obama. This Libya episode is just another chapter in a soon-to-be-published book: "Obama, The Absolutely Worst President in U.S. History".

HH

P.S. If you really believe U.S. troops won't set foot on Libyan soil, I'd like to sell you bridge up in SFO (you can have your pick).

... and whose fault was all that lot eh?... election thief Bushit.. I bet even he wishes they'd recounted the chads one more time!

Bushit's head in the sands oversight of derivatives and mortgage market caused the Global Financial Collapse... no doubt about that at all. The documentary The Warning is absolutely must see viewing to judge the sheer incompetence of Bush and his team, which led to almost total financial meltdown until Obama took office, kick-started the economy and saved all our arses.

Continued pandering to Israel made the USA an Al Qaeda target and consequent involvement in Afghanistan, when the Taliban refused to give up Bin Liner to face justice. BTW I support the war in Afghanistan.

The sacrifice of thousands of American, allied and Iraqi lives looking for non existent WMD is all down to Bushit. The film "Fair Game" is also compulsory viewing.

As an outsider I think Obama is one of the best presidents you've ever had!

No Republican on Fox Noise or on this forum has to this day ever stated how they would have tackled all the shit that Obama had to inherit. Its all just carp, whinge and nitpick.

C'mon tells how you would have brought Al Qaeda to its knees in Afghanistan, extricated the USA with honour from Iraq, and turned the GFC around so that the USA jumped out of recession, and was now fully employed and prosperous.

**Oops I missed out " military personnel assisting Japan in it's hour of need"... you're not going to blame the earthquake and tsunami on Obama too are you? hehe.

I bet you the Sydney Harbour Bridge that American ground forces do NOT enter Libya! :-)

The Brits and French may do. But the locals don’t even want them... just a no fly zone, an end to Gadaffi's tanks and artillery being used against civilians, and they will do the rest. A totally different kettle of fish from Iraq and Afghanistan.

Why should Obama be derelict on his duties to foster good relations in South America on a prearranged visit? Was he needed miles out in the Med to press the launch button?

He certainly is...no one can lie better, no one can be better controlled by the banks and Wall Street!

>...and turned the GFC around so that the USA jumped out of recession, and was now fully employed and prosperous...

55555555555, unemployment is still "published" at 10% or so (maybe now 9%?), which is terrible.

Taxes going up like crazy!!! wages evaporating, prices of food and oil going to the moon...no one needs this type of prosperity!!!

So Cav...what do you think will happen next. Ga-Daffy's troops will withdraw from Benghazi? 24 hour patrolling by UK, French, US aircraft for God knows how long? What assistance/support vaguely assured by Arab League countries will be forthcoming? French Foreign Legion hit the beach or drop into the fracus? 55555555555

I really don't know how the U.S. got roped into this mess; not sure why the British found it so important. The French must be having some kind of feelings of inadequacy these days, so they pop some Viagra and want to go to war?

The coalition, in keeping with the terms of the resolution has basically one objective: stop the killing of civilians through the establishmet of a no-fly zone. So how long will it be necesary to sustain such a zone and how much is such an operation gonna cost?; and who the heck is gonna pony up the $$$ to do it? And for why? Tyrants are in charge in countries all ove the world. Ga-Daffy has been a (relatively) "good boy" since Reagan presented him with a little gift 20-some years ago...save for Pan Am. This isn't gonna be quick and dirty, I don't give a hoot what some would like to belive.

The situation is very likely to escalate into a situation where foreign troops will have to put boots on the ground and hunt for Ga-Daffy...and they it's be the same thing as in Iraq: various tribes fighting to fill the power vaccum. In fact, one pundit I heard suggested that piracy similar to that originating out of Somolia could become a big industy in a post-Ga-Daffy era. :dunno: All this shit makes my head hurt.
