SO, USA, England, Russia, China, India, France, Pakistan, Israel, No. Korea and formerly South Africa.

I was positive when the USSR broke up its some of its former satelite states had them (Ukraine, Belorussia, and a few of the -stans. states whose name end in 'stan in southern Russia)

I wonder if say Italy, Swedent or Spain said it was developing nukes if the backlash would be as bad as Iran?

Flashermac was joking there HorneyTorney. No need for the European nations to develop nukes. They have the U.S. er...ah..Nato. The european nations for decades could sink the money they would have spent on defense as they did in the pre-WW2 years into their economy because they had America to protect them from Soviet expansionism and aggression. Don't know why France even needed them frankly.

Anyway, the Saudis are the ones that should be the most scared about Iran. Iran has never liked the House of Saud as stewards of the holy cities of Mecca and Medina. Iran would love to see those cities under the control of the Shi'a sect of Islam.

yeah, based on the assumption that two adjacent countries do like each other. that's not the case for Norway and Sweden!

the assumption is valid for UK and France and for all its neighbors with Germany!

your second statement sums pretty much up the attitude of US towards the European countries!

Why should France not have the nuke? of course some countries would get pretty worried if Germany had it!

That would be the peace deal that on the same day in 2002 it was announced, 30 Israeli civilian were killed by Hamas suicide bomber attending a Passover seder.

Good start, don't you think?

TH

A typical "muddy the waters" Zionist throwaway line response from you, TH, rather than address the issue.

That terrorist attack as you well know, was one group's attempt to derail the sincere and groundbreaking Arab Peace initiative, and Israel willingly helped Hamas to do so.

What was Israel's response to the Arab peace initiative...

the Jenin refugee camp massacre in April 2002

Human Rights Watch reported that at least 52 were killed "Many of them were killed willfully or unlawfully, and in some cases constituted war crimes. including the case of 57-year old Kamal Zugheir who was shot and then run over by IDF tanks while in his wheelchair, and that of 37-year old Jamal Fayid, a quadraplegic crushed to death in the rubble of his home after an IDF bulldozer advanced upon it, refusing to allow his family to intervene to remove him."

You conveniently fail to mention the long list of Israeli atrocities and genocide commited against civilians prior to this: from Deir Yassin and other ethnic cleansing massacres in 1948 when more than 250 villagers including pregnant women and children were bayoneted by the valiant Israeli soldiers, through to 17,500 dead – almost all civilians, most of them children and women – in Israel's 1982 invasion of Lebanon, and 1,700 Palestinians murdered under the watchful eyes of future Israeli PM Ariel Sharon in the Sabra-Chatila refugee camps, and the 1996 Qana massacre of 106 Lebanese civilian refugees, more than half of them children, at a UN base. Prior to the Hamas attack in Netanya, more than 1200 Palestinians had been murdered by the IDF in the previous 18 months.

And so it has continued through to the invasion of Gaza refugee camps in 2008 [much discussed and whitewashed by you and LP on this forum] with over 1000 Palestinian civilians killed including 252 children.

The tide has turned in world opinion. With the internet and other media Israel cannot get away with the big lie any longer.

All the more reason for Israel to make a just peace [while they still can!] recognised by all its neighbours.. the only kind of peace agreement worth having, because without it Israel's borders will never be secure, and they will be forever looking over their shoulders, with the blood cycle repeating itself. No future at all.

And no future for the rest of us either if Israel plunges the world back into a recession by attacking Iran.

Shalom.

that's pretty much bullshit!

for the smaller countries in Europe it is just a simple matter of government budget priorities as develop a nuke is still pretty expensive

er, it was a joke :surprised:

dont set yourself apart pal, i know children die in palestine at the hands of the israeli army and seeing kids blown up is horrible, you dont have some special gift to feel it alone. it takes 2 to tango and both sides are fucked up with this cycle of violence but why the fuck does iran have to go get nukes. WHY???????????????????

lol...on a sidenote, which European powers have nukes anyway? I know France does. England does. Does anyone else who were not part of the old Soviet bloc? Italy? Spain? Belgium? The nordic countries? I doubt Germany does but may have gotten them when they assumed East Germany.

Just curious.

Germany doesn't have any. Part of the unification deal with Russia was that the soviet military leaves East Germany completely taking all weapons with them. Germany paid several billions to the russian military for this - Germany built for example housing estates for Russian soldiers in Moscow.

The unification couldn't have happened without the consent of Russia. How times have changed since then, if you look at Putin's nationalism today.

It is France and the Brits who have atomic weapons. Both former superpowers. They need the weapons against the invasion of Greek immigrants or to protect sheeps at Falkland Islands. neener.gif
