1) China oppresses human right far worse than the USA does, and we are pretty damned bad about it. I know people from mainland china here, they are latterly a “dime a dozen” in these parts, they all say the same thing, there are 2 China’s 1 the tourists see and “the real China” that many foreigners never see. I could go on, but I’d be accused of furthering USA propaganda. I’ll leave it at “…you see a lot of them coming here(there everywhere) but you seldom if ever see the westerners going there to make it big…”

Yes the USA bombs the shit out of countries, your point is? I’ll state in many cases, it has been wrong/illegal and those in power should be charged with war crimes and human rights violations. The wars in Afghanistan and Iraq were unnecessary in terms of “fighting terrorism” and were ONLY about pipelines and oil…

China invaded (militarily) Vietnam in 1979 (yes decades ago) and got their ass handed to them. They did so to “punish Vietnam” for invading/liberating Cambodia from the Chinese backed Khmer Rouge. China currently is playing the same game the USA and other countries has played, mainly invading countries financially in order to exploit resources and people. The bottom line question remains, you/we will/do live under the boot of oppression, would you rather it be an American/western boot or a Chinese boot “communist” boot? In the west you can legally watch porn and smoke weed and pretty much do what you want/can afford. Under the Chinese boot, you can’t…there are other reasons why I’d pick the western boot. In short, I consider the Chinese government’s bullshit a lot worse than that of the USA Government’s bullshit.

"Ah, the boot-off! One boot's a well-worn American brogue, stained with the oil of countless interventions and the sweat of exploited labor. The other's a shiny new Chinese loafer, stamping down dissent but lifting millions out of poverty. One offers the illusion of freedom with a side of crippling debt, the other offers stability at the cost of expression. Pick your poison. Just don't pretend either boot smells like roses."

is ok to be critical of the government without fear

Why is Trump suing CBS over an episode of 60 Minutes

Why is Trump fire all prosecutors going after every FBI operative involved in Jan 6 insurrection

To me that is not being able to critical without fear.

He seems to have read about Article 112 and making it applicable to him in the USA

I never said either boot was desirable, it would be better if there was no boot all,  I agree both are poisonous.

He feels he is maligned and our legal system allows one to sue *IF* they feel they have been slandered. Are you aware of the case he won against another news outlet? *IF* he was legally wronged, he has a right to sue and win and be paid even if he is a despicable piece of shit, that is the system, same as the cave rescuer who sued Elon Musk.

Why is Trump fire all prosecutors going after every FBI operative involved in Jan 6 insurrection

Because he is abusing his power, this is up to the law to decide.

Well clearly the January 6th people did protest disorderly and were arrested, is that the law or government oppression? Thin line? Yes, he is abusing his powers I agree. However in China you cannot voice any dissent as a common citizen are you implying one is better as I am?  Again, pick a boot and the illusions/delusions it gives you, because you are going to have one on your neck for life… I prefer the illusions/delusions of a western boot (not specifically the USA’s boot) Example would you rather live under a Norwegian boot or a Chinese boot? Different argument now? UK boot or Chinese boot? Australian or North Korean? The question remans the same though the players vary?

He seems to have read about Article 112 and making it applicable to him in the USA

Are you referring to the UCMJ code 112 covering being drunk on  military duty or something else?  If he was drunk at least he’d have an excuse. I feel he is mad with power and should be stopped, but that is up to the other fuck wits our stupid asses elected.

Whilst I Can’t detail why, I can say that a China adjacent country has made quite a lot of progress in a decade. Not perfectly but noticeable. Denizens thereof can see that the pecking order is lacking but will not say. They see consumerism as an attainable and worthy desire.

whereas. -  Coming from Middle Earth I have consumerism up to the gills and I see relative happiness and calm, no fighting at parties, no gun crime, no high costs and a tolerable climate .

And of course, legions of comely lasses, giving even Old and imperfect Foreigner the glad eye.

Much as a dead colleague of ours used to do with burka wearers, I’ve started to give old women a cheeky wink if they meet my eye

Which dead colleague had a thing for old women in Burkas..? Other then the face covering, the outfit isn’t much different than my Beidictine nun costume…

Not sure he had a thing, but he did enjoy unsettling them, as do I.
