Another day.

Another day passed yesterday, and before that, another. And then another month. The months run a relay. The years run a marathon with no water break.
Sat on the pool deck and punched in Thai360. I’d been away for a while.I had visions of a trip, this did not eventuate,I run my own business which consumes 70 odd hours a week. So with no trip on the immediate horizon,I peruse Thai360 - it’s almost the same. The postings remind me of my countless trips, too many to recall. The strangers met in the bars in the early hours of my travels.
I once took advice from a character on the board, and made a trip to southern LOS. Again took his advice, found a freelancer, found a boat and we parked off on an island for three days. Three memorable days. Still have the video clips. We were young, fit and didn’t care a whisper. Had a farewell at the local bar. Years later I ‘think’  I saw her again. Time had passed and she had a ‘guest’ alongside her. I tried to catch her eye,at one stage I saw a smile, but that could have meant ‘hi’.
Given the passing of time,I’ll never have the energy to ‘Island again’,but I have the memory.
Just a sharing of an experience, sitting at the pool.
‘Happy to have found Thai360 those years back.

Thanks for the Post Kiwi. Nice to see someone else contributing. Been a bit scarce of late

I often browse through old photos a remember so great times in LOS. Even as a newbie those memories are priceless. I came along a bit later than others. Meetings were at Gullivers. Still remember the first time. The apprehension an fear that I was going to approach someone and introduce myself and then not having a clue what I was talking about. I made it through and met members I'm still in touch with almost 20 years.

My Burma Girl experience keeps me interest in the country. Was contemplating a visit this year.

So this begs the question.
Those of you who are of the ‘get the gold watch’ time frame, where are your energy levels in comparison to the years long gone?
Are you any where near the antics of the 1990’s and later?
Got to admit, the mind is eager, but the body is hesitant.

Oddly, my energy is almost the same…when in LOS, home not so much. I work around a lot of young people, some young enough to me my grandkids really, and that keeps me in touch with some new things that would other wise slip by. One of my coworkers is a young Chinese girl from Belize, sweet little girl and the last thing I want to do is look or act old around her! My wife is 22 years younger than me and that helps as well.  Does my mind over run my body? At times, yes and I think it always has and probably always will and I don’ think that is a bad thing. I don’t want to “die old,” I want to stay young in my mind always. I think the punting life did help me in that regard. Low stress is the key! Yes all the drinking and “other things” at times, may have caused harm to the body, no denying that, but stress WILL KILL YOU! Kill you and fast! I work with tons of guys who look act and feel older than me, many are actually younger…most if not all never lived or partied like we do/did/will do.

Running your own business is tough…hard to get away. In this case, I suggest prostitutes and a drink or 2, take both and call us in the morning…
