Not all gogo girls are "available"

Thanks for the detailed response. But here's some history to my post: In another post (I think in the thread: Do you establish lt/st price before barfining) I said that I ask girls if they like to be barfined (not those exact words, but something to find out if she potentially wants to go with me) before I even buy a LD, if I do that at all. I said that I do that because I've seen some girls not wanting to go with customers for any number or reasons (and i listed the various ways they show this) and i don't want to waste my money and time to find that out later, after buying a drink. (I wrote more about this in the original post). HighTailed responded by saying "GoGo girls not going with customers? That's silly.....that's why they are there" (almost his exact words, but i paraphrased slightly). So, I agree most gogo girls are availalbe for takeout , but i still want to find that out before wasting money/time with a LD. I realize she may be more likely to want to go with me after i buy a ld and sit around for a while compared with just talking to me for one minute while i ask if she wants to be barfined.

That's why I was annoyed with you in my earlier post in this thread. It seems kind of self-indulgent to start multiple threads on the topic of your aversion to buying lady drinks. I can only imagine the horror of spending 100 baht and then not shagging the recipient! ::

To avoid the lady drink dilemma, why not try the MP's, escort services or freelancers on the street? ::

Otherwise, what's the problem? Don't buy a lady drink until you have negotiated your rate up-front for X number of hours. And don't forget to have fun. :p

Sarisin.

i'm talking about Bars and Go-Go's in Patong Beach,Phuket.

while i don't doubt many of thr Bars have quota's,afer all many fellow board members say so.

just that in my experience i have come across some Bars where they don't practise this.

and i found all of them were owned(or maybe run) by non Thai's.

Hi June11,

Uhmmm? One thing I neglected to bring up in my last post, was the environment factor. I've never experienced what you state in your other post, nor in this one, for that matter, because of the factors I, and others, stated to you there.

I haven't checked, but I'm assuming you're a newbie, to LOS. You enter the night life scene in BKK, and you have 1,000's of girls to choose from. I walk into a go-go bar, and will be litteraly attacked by many willing participants. You simply choose one to your liking, and go to room. It could not be more easy.

But....if I see a girl on stage, who interests me, but looks like she just wants to be somewhere else, do I go after her? Of course not. Why waste my time, with 4,000 other girls in SC, and Nana?

I can't help but think you are inquiring about taking a girl who seems uninterested, working as a go-go dancer, and then wondering whether you should shower her with L/D's before finding out if she will go with you??? Is this right?

:: If this is the case, then you need to learn not to approach these girls, obviously them not wanting to be approached. Any dancer in a go-go bar, who comes up to you, and activley engages you, all smiles, will go with you. Just trust me on this. You want to go after the non-interested girl in the corner, who just found out her brother died in moto accident??? It's up to you. But don't base your perception of reality on this. A week later same girl will be rubbing you, pleading for you to take her. I cite this scenario, because I actually experienced it.

In answer to your question:

>>>>>So, I agree most gogo girls will go with me if I call them over to talk, but i still want to find that out before wasting money/time with a LD.....because certainly not all gogo girls want to go with a customer that night, and not all want to go with me.<<<<<

A go-go girl not wanting to go with you, will not be sitting next to you. She will be avoiding you at all costs. Your scenario of a go-go girl playing you up for L/D's, and then telling you she not go with customers, is something alien. It just seems like you are coming up with possible situations, not routed in reality, unless you are trying to barfine very obvious unwilling participants.

If you don't want to waste the price of a L/D on a girl, then walk into any Go-go, ask the first lady who approaches you if she like go S/T, and be done with it. What exactly is the problem you are having/experiencing?

Hmmmm. No one has specifically hit this particular nail on the head. Most sharp go-go dancer types I know will take about 45 seconds to figure out that a guy who goes through "twenty questions" with a girl before even springing for an extravagant 100 baht lady drink ....... is a very cheap charlie who will likely be problematic to collect from, in connection with doing the big deed - be it ST/LT/whatever. So they will cross you off the list - and the bg telegraph can pretty quickly make said cheap charlie persona non grata for all the girls in a given club.

The bar exists to make money, but so do the girls. In most cases, they aren't going to take the risk of getting stiffed on their piece of the financial action, just so the bar can make its nut up-front.

'May or may not apply in this particular case. But if this is the case, then they are likely to just give you some bs about "I don't go with customer" to avoid a hassle with you (or maybe even help you save face).

I will also add that I have seen a few cases where a lady is permanently "bought out of the bar" at a go-go by a farang or Japanese sponsor, and then goes on the payroll of her benefactor, ostensibly no longer working. Well, we all know that lots of girls cheat full-scale on such arrangements, but I have also know a couple of ladies (particularly young stunner types) who got bored, or were coaxed by bar managers or mamasans to come in occasionally and "shake it up" to draw in punters, but were excused from having to actually go with customers, so as to not put the girl's main gravy train in jeapordy.

My comments are just meant to address a couple of additional possibilities that have not been previously vented.

OK, sayjann, I bow to your knowledge here as I don't know much about the scene in Patong Beach, Phuket. I have only been to Phuket 4 times and 3 of those were with a lady, so we did not hit many gogo bars.

I still find it surprising though that they don't have barfine or ladydrink quotas there at the gogo bars, but what do I know?

Happy New Year, and, really, if you can, give the Philippines a look someday. :)

'yo, Stone Soup, what are you up to this holiday? I hope you have a good one...

You bring up an excellent topic - the whole psychology of buying a ladydrink. Is this simple act the precursor of greater sanuk down the road? Some may say no, but I am of the opinion it is. Those who know me, know I am quick to buy a ladydrink. It just comes natural with me when a lady I am interested in sits with me. Call it the price I pay for her company, if you will.

Maybe it does show a bit of goodwill on my part and get the lady a little more interested. Maybe not. I still don't mind springing for ladydrinks - at least that first one when I can get to know the lady better.

Now, of course, if an uninvited lady plops down on that seat next to me and I have no interest, I won't be ordering her a drink.

I would be anxious to hear what guys think the purpose a ladydrink serves (or does not serve) in their overall bar strategy.

Well, out to buy some New Year's Eve ladydrinks now.

Happy New Year y'all! :drunk:

Says HIGH THAIED:

One note to this: I had been talking to manager of Rainbow1 one evening (outside of bar) for about an hour. Later in bar, she pointed to girls on stage, and said "You pick any one. Doesn't matter. I make barfine very cheap for you", while shining flashlight back and forth on them all (30 girls, or so). I can tell you, that any girl I chose, and refused me, would have caused great loss of face for mamasan, and I doubt very much any girl up there would have refused, if valued her job.

Interesting. She was the example I was thinking of whose orders were snubbed but the girl retained her job! She's a harsh looking character but she can be denied!

Howdy there, Sarasin -

I celebrated ringing in the New Year at Soi Zero - Det 5 Sexy Night to be exact. I like the lower key atmosphere for ex-patsat that venue.

My style matches yours - mu policy is that if I enter a bar,sit down and buy myself a drink, then i am always going to buy a least one lady drink. To me, it is just part of "playing the game". If you are getting the entertainment, you do your part to pay for it.

usually, I simply wait arounf until some lady plops down next to me, and I then buy her a drink. It doesn't really matter to me whether she is fat, old, or whatever. So long a sshe is trying to do her job, and is reasonably pleasant about it, them I reward her.

If no ladies approach, then I buy the dek-serve a drink. Or the DJ. Or the Mamasan. Again, its allpart of playing the game.

In my book, some guy who has to run the five-year financials on a girl;s probable horizontal output before he buys her the first drink - well, this type of guy probably shouldn't be on his own in Bangkok - better to stay home with his parents.

My thoughts, anyway.

'See you 'round there, Mr. Sarasin.

Hmm.

I do think there are unavailable girls.

1. There seem to be quite a few girls who prefer Japanese men. They get into this habit and tend to ignore Westerners. I've met two different girls in Baccara who told me straight out that they only go with Japanese men.

2. There are some girls who will not go LT, or at least not for anything like reasonable prices. The younger girls often are looking purely for money, without any pretence of boyfriend/girlfriend relationship, so are happier earning their money through multiple STs and going home to sleep in their own beds.

3. I know a 'hello girl' at Nana who has a Thai boyfriend, and she seems to be resolutely faithful to him. She used to go with customers, but will not any more. She's a pretty girl, she does a good job, she attracts the customers, so the mamasan has done a deal with her that means she doesn't have to make 'off' quotas.

I think one should remember that the rules at bars differ, and that even at those bars there are likely to be different categories of girls on different salaries and different deals. If a girl is making money for the bar, most managers would rather keep her, even if she's not earning barfines.

I knew a girl who was star of Long Gun shows, whose lesbian girlfriend worked there also, and she was banned by her girlfriend from going with customers, but she was a great dancer and the bar kept her.

4. I knew a girl at Dollhouse who was quite upfront and told men that she was happy to go out with them and get dinner, see a movie, spend time together, but that she did not sleep with men. She was a sweet girl, with excellent English skills, and she had a lot of barfines, and to my knowledge never slept with any of the men. She put herself through English classes, got a qualifification, left the bar, and now has an office job that she is enjoying.

5. And of course there is always the 'time of the month' when some girls will avoid barfines, whereas others don't seem to give a damn.

I had an experience at Mandarin recently when I asked the mamasan about a girl, and she called her and told her to go with me. The girl sat with me, and after a while quietly explained to me that she wasn't well - even showed me her pills - and asked me to please tell the mamasan I had changed my mind and not to say that she wouldn't come. I don't know whether she was indeed ill or just didn't like the look of me, but clearly didn't want to go, and was too scared to say no to the mamasan.

I think this is silly of the mamasan. Who wants to be with a girl who really doesn't want to be with you at all?

Hmm.

I think my next post should be about girls who DID want to go with me!

There was one once...
