"Don't be hatin'!";)

That said, if I want to sit around being a miserable fuck, I'll sit at home with a bottle of Jack and some Internet porn; no need to inflict it on the world at large!

I have to agree with Suadam and Zorro, going out and having a laugh with a few drinks with some pretty girls is a big part of the fun, for me (although I'm not complaining about the fuckie-suckie! :) ). Whether they really enjoy my company, or are just putting on an act is fairly irrelevant to me as long as the girls don't rub my nose in it. I mean, are you there looking for love, or just some "sanuk"?

"Sanuk" (from thai-language.com) - definition

[is] fun; enjoyable; entertaining; amusing; pleasant

From some of the posts on this thread, I thought it might be a good idea to post a definition of why so many of us go to Thailand. If you just want to rub up against something with no interaction, by all means stay in Farangland and hook up with a working girl there, and that's what you'll get - fuck and forget.

To each his own, I guess, but if the last comment describes you, I genuinely pity you. I don't mean that in a condescending or negative way, but something must have seriously gone wrong in your life to reach this place. I've had my share of bad experiences with women, but I haven't let it sour me to the entire female species. As far as bargirls and gogo girls, yeah, they fuck for money, but I don't see that as a reason to treat them like a piece of shit - I can think of hundred better and more valid reasons for treating someone like the worthless fuck that they are :cussing: (male or female)!

I'm generally a live-and-let-live kind of guy, so I guess if you want to be one of those guys who sits in the corner, good luck to you! Me, on my next trip to the Big Mango, I'm going to find some "sanuk" girls, have a few laughs and a few drinks, stick my penis in some vagina:devil:, and have the time of my life! Cho nee krap!

BTW, I'm still a fair newbie to the BKK scene, so take my comments for what they're worth....

I am sure that they are tired of the same inane prattle of BGs saying "Where you come from?" because they never took the time to learn the langauge .

No. Even if you learn the language you'll find that the subject matter is quite limited. Given the same sort of rural backgrounds and culture, it inevitably must be.

[color:"blue"] And of course they believe that all BGs are poor uneducated Issarn gals, which is not quite the truth.

Splitting hairs, are we?

[color:"blue"] But you would not know that because you equate intelligence with the ability to speak English, right?

On the contrary, some of the ladies are quite intelligent. But background & culture have simply limited the ability and opportunity to use that intelligence. This is their tragedy.

[color:"blue"] I have had many very good conversations with gals who are intelligent (educated does NOT always mean intelligent and vice-versa), have interesting views and opinions and who have made me think.

If you're a newbie, all their views and opinions will seem interesting. If you're in love with one, then even the current price of rambutan is extremely interesting. If you're deeply involved and your futures are intertwined, life together is interesting. Otherwise after awhile you've heard it all before and you know where it leads. Generally speaking. Of course there can be some extraordinary exception, but it would take time to find that, and you won't find it out amid a bevy of ladies around your table in a go-go.

[color:"blue"]It's all about meeting people.

Or not. Just because you say it is, doesn't mean that it is, you see. That's probably hard to swallow, but get used to the idea and you'll be much more comfortable. You can meet people in places other than bars and go-gos--believe it or not.

[color:"blue"] You will drink your cola in the corner and watch UBC because your are too cheap to buy it at home.

Oh, this is just hot air. You have no idea who is too cheap to buy what. Who's watching UBC in a go-go except Brits watching footie?

[color:"blue"] Or better, why go to a gogo bar?

You had an eye check lately? As was said, drinking, listening to music, watching the girls dance, watching the stupid farang, and sizing up the ladies for a possible BF. Other venues don't provide the dancing or the showing. Now if you just can't understand that despite the generous help given, despite its rationality, then it's just your own blind spot and you're just gonna have to live with it.

[color:"blue"] Moving up" to fuck department store ladies? WTF?

Generally speaking--not always of course--if you compare the manners and the looks of the department store ladies to those of go-go ladies, the department store ladies come out way ahead. If you like the sleazy look and generally rough manners, then you'll prefer the go-go ladies.

Not at all. I love women and have become more of a feminist since I came to LOS. Your own attitude might be described as sexist, however. I'll let you figure that one out.

[color:"blue"] If indeed you feel this way about the girls why would you bother even setting foot into such an establishment.

As was explained a couple of times already, drinking, listening to music, watching the girls dance, watching the stupid farang, and sizing up the ladies for a possible BF. You still got a problem with that? Try to get over your own obsessions.

[color:"blue"]You have contradicted yourself big time here.

First you say why bother with any interaction because all you want is a shag and then you say you want more than a shag!!!

That isn't contradictory, because you want drinking, listening to music, watching the girls dance, watching the stupid farang, and sizing up the ladies for a possible BF-all of which is more than just a shag.

[color:"blue"] USVirgin

[color:"blue"] My point is that we have the 'spend more' people calling the 'spend less' people losers, while the 'spend less' people are retaliating, calling the 'spend more' people stupid.

Personally I don't care what anyone spends or what illusions they wish to hold; it's entirely their business. But "spend more" people seem always worried that someone might be spending less than they do. It's rather like the obese trying to get others to eat more, maybe so that they won't look so fat. Then all these excuses get offered up. Suddenly go-go girls become sincere, honest, intelligent, educated, articulate deserving working girls delighting in jokes they don't even understand from a fat bald ugly horny old farang, dying to have a shag with him, and he's doing them a big favor by providing employment, etc. etc. It's well that on some rare occasion at least somebody questions their smug little illusions, don't you think? But any such questioner will be in the minority here in this forum, of course.

It doesn't come across that way and in fact comes across as someone who is quite bitter.

It is not me who has the problem.

You don't seem to have grasped the concept of interaction with people. Interaction requires some sort of communication to take place other than negotiating the bar fine.

You say you don't care what people spend and what illusions they have but then you have spent quite a bit of time in this thread criticising these same people. It seems like you do care and again are contradicting yourself.

I am not worried what people spend and of course that is up to them but this discussion has turned into something other than what people spend rather it is a reflection of attitudes towards people and more specifically to gogo girls.

Your patronising attitude is rather disturbing and if this reflects your attitude to people in general rather sad.

If your not happy with this forum you know what you have to do since you are so clever.

By the way you sound like a guy who was thrown out of the ThaiVisa board because of the same view about the pouying of the night and you happend to start posting here at the same time that the guy was thrown out on the other board.

Is that a simple coincidence?

Why so? Nobody?s bitter around here I know of.

[color:"blue"] You don't seem to have grasped the concept of interaction with people. Interaction requires some sort of communication to take place other than negotiating the bar fine.

On the contrary as I just noted some may prefer to enjoy their interactions with people elsewhere than in a go-go bar and they may have valid reasons for that preference. They may not even wish to negotiate a bar fine. You see, it?s not necessary to interact when and where and how you have determined they must interact so that you will be comfortable.

[color:"blue"] You say you don't care what people spend and what illusions they have but then you have spent quite a bit of time in this thread criticising these same people.

As I said, it?s well that somebody speaks up and gives a contrary viewpoint now and then. If you don?t have a live & let live attitude then you can feel criticized I suppose.

[color:"blue"] a reflection of attitudes towards people and more specifically to gogo girls.

I have the greatest limited respect for go-go girls. I?m glad they?re around. I may know them better than you do, though every individual is different. And I enjoy going to go-gos, if not for your ?approved? reasons. I don?t idealize the dancers, however. Nor do the authors of a number of books in which they are portrayed. What I said--which is hardly radical--is that some of us may no longer find them--in general--interesting conversationalists for various reasons. Now if you think so, then that's fine; just understand that I don't have to.

[color:"blue"]Your patronising attitude is rather disturbing and if this reflects your attitude to people in general rather sad.

May your disturbance lead to some healthy readjustment of your attitudes and a more open mind.

Okay, I'll come out of the closet. I'm mostly known as Kee Niaw in the bars.

I'll sit alone in a bar. Every once in awhile I'll take a "tour" and see what the bars are like. I'll stay till the dancers change (1 song, 5 songs, whatever).

I'll buy a drink if I think a girl is interesting or if a girl will sit with me and "entertain" me with something other than the inane conversation.

What I really dislike are the folks who believe that you buying them a drink is their right, and who get all pissy when you say no. I see this happen with my "popular" friends who buys drinks all the time. But to each their own. That just irks me a lot more than being known as kee niaw.

3 weeks ago I was at Manadarin. One girl just sat and talked with me. During this time, a few minutes, three people who I casually knew stopped by and asked for a drink which I declined.

The girl who sat with me seemed nice so I bought her a drink. Within 1 minute of her returning to the table with a drink I had no less than 5 other people around the table asking me for a drink at the same freak'n time. When I decline most of them started getting pissy. Check bin. If I wanted to get treated like shit, I'd call an ex-girlfriend and invite her over. lol.
