whosyourdaddy
Have a workmate ( late 40s) who is going insane with fatherhood and married life. I suggested he get a hobby. What do you guys do for hobbies that you can easily get out and meet new like-minded guys. Was thinking along the lines of a chess club, book club, martial arts etc. He said non-sport activity would be the best. Ideas?

khunsanuk
Hi, I read a lot, but am not part of any book club. I do know of one though (a couple of my friends, several of whom are on this board actually) that meets once a month. I think there are a few people playing cards as well on a regular basis. Oh, and then there are the quiz nights I suppose. Sanuk!
Pom Michael
KS, Be careful if you start hanging out in THAT crowd (the book club, card players and quizzers)! I hear that they can be a group of bad influence! Cheers!

RayRay
Golf is my hobby here. Fairly cheap for the quality of courses around Bangkok. The way I approach the game is less a sport but more a beer drinking / caddy diddling contest. You must have the proper group members to make it worth while.
