I think the guy is a sicko. But I also think he is not the one who did it. There are already cracks in his story. The down side of all this is that is smears LOS a lot. Of course this will be used to track everyone who goes to LOS and next thing you know we will be prohibited from going to LOS or having to register as perv's or something like that. Also as I understand it he is not be extradited per se, but being deported for visa violations. Just happens that he has a police escort out of the country. I still think that the family was involved somehow.

Does anyone else think (as I do) that parents who are into these kiddie pagents might be a bit twisted themselves? what is the joy in parading your kid around in various costumes, some of them a bit "much" for kids. Some of these pagents even have swim suit competitions I understand...so I think one might have to question the parents motives...I believe this topic was addressed during the media coverage/investigations immediately following the murder.

That guy looks like a Seal/Secret Agent type trying to disguise himself off as a tourist, not someone I would wanna go up against on a one to one basis. His cover may be blown now though -- i.e., if he had one.

Yeah, definitely looks like someone perhaps affiliated with the embassy, with a bit of experience in the region.

I wouldn't fuck with him either, other than maybe to buy him a drink.

I have friends who are people like that. :)

I've been thinking about that too. I suppose the parents are either super-supportive or super-pushy depending on your point of view. For sure a lot of those mothers are living out their own 'fame/success' fantasies but if the kids enjoy it...why not?

You should read 'Miss Wyoming' by Douglas Coupland.

was this the young Girl who was killed and for Years the Parents were suspected of the killing?.

espiecally the Father.

if she is who i think she was,was she one of those unfortunates who are made to take part in beauty pageants while 5+Years old?.

i think the Parents of these kids are very abusive by making their kids take part in these evnts.

Bada  Bing

He doesn't look creepy at all. That's just the audience like you who wants to see a creepy man. He looks absolutely ordinary in a situation we all would feel extremely uneasy paraded in front of the world press.

Just from the photo I would have voted for the man in the Hawaii t-shirt. He looks like the usual criminal you see in all the crime series on tv or in movies.

PS: a photographer can make every man look creepy, if he wants to.

Hear hear, well said, cock. :applause:

Actually, that clown looks very like a Nanaplaza board member I enjoyed a few ales with in Morning Night bar a couple of years ago. :drunk: Nice geezer. European bloke that had lived in Japan, hobby was chasing oriental skirt. :hubba: Spitting image of the feller, he is, clothes and coupon. :clown:

Blast. What was his bloody board name again damn it...? :doah:

jack :help:

PS. Ah, that was it. "Kamui". :smirk:

PPS. Why the fuck doesn't the image come out to play when I quote it? has this steam-driven Victorian work computer let me down again. :(

It is all one of degree. You can see "bad" parenting at any junior sporting event (soccer, baseball, basketball, hockey, gymnastics, etc.).

I would say it goes beyond bad parenting. It is like using your kid as a little dress up doll, and parading her around in some cases, dressed in an adult manner, and striking poses which might be considered "inappropriate" for kids.

I agree with Chuckwow about who the winner in all of this will probably be. Thailand in general, however, won't and doesn't look that good.

I don't know if the guy is guilty. As time goes by, more inconsistencies come out in his confession. There is an interesting story on the Slate website about false confessions which can be found here:False Confessions Explained

After reading the article on the Slate, one thought crossed my mind: what if this guy was under suspicion but is not really guilty and only confessed because the Thai police employed their usual "investigative" methods when they were tipped off about this guy and all of this comes out after he is back in the US?

If the guy was not even in Colorado at the time of the murder - something that should be pretty easy to establish - it will show this is not the guy. And if he is not the guy, people will wonder why he confessed.
