The_Munchmaster
I couldn't be happier right now. It's almost 2 am, and I have to get up in about 5 hours, but Arsenal have just beaten AC Milan 2 v 0 at the San Siro and in about 20 hours time I'll be boarding TG 520 to Bangkok. Steve
I'm in heaven Munch! Which one was greater for you? This, the 1-0 at Real Madrid or the 5-1 at San Siro against Inter?
Mekong
Well United did just enough to get past Lyon and in doing so equalled Juventus 11 year old record of ten straight home wins in the Champions League with the chance of setting the outright record in the next round. Congrats to Steve, Munchie and any other Arsenal fans, as I said back on 21/12 I expected 7 of the 8 group winners to progress with Arsenal being the exception. Steve
Thanks, congrats as well Mekong. Seems english sides are setting some records. Over the past couple years, it seems that english clubs are dominating the competition. Oftentimes, all 4 or at least 3 of the 4 sides make it to the later rounds. sayjann
was going to post last Night but too tired and fell asleep. good performance by Arsenal fully deserved by all reports...... first English Team to win in the San Siro. don't know wether that means against Milan/Inter or both.... i think it must be Milan because i have a vague memory of MU beating Inter a few Years ago. whatever it means a good achivement. MU were flat against Lyon but got the Goal which took them through. as Mekong said they have equalled the record of Juventus of 10 straight wins at Home in the CL... i expect Chelsea and Liverpool to progress tonight and that could mean 4 English Teams in the last 8. i wonder what the odds are that they avoid each other in the next round?. i don't think we will see an all English Final..... Teams are bound to be drawn against each other in the next 2 rounds. surprise of the Night for me was Seville going out.....
sayjann
a couple of Nights of surprise. 3 Winners of the CL over the last 7 Years go out. RM are out,Porto go out on Pens and last Night Milan got trashed. so far 3 English Teams,1 German,1 Greek,i Spanish and 1 Italian Team through. could be 4 English Teams through this time next Week or 3 English and 2 Italian Teams. the draw for the next round is gonna be interesting. as a MU supporter i would be happy with a Tie against any of the German/Greek or Italian Teams. but it's not gonna happen,we will get Barca/Chelsea or Arsenal...........almost guaranteed. sayjann
in the rehearsal for the draw no English Team was drawn against each other. MU v Barca Arsenal v Roma Chelsea v Schalke Liverpool v Fenerbache as the draw is about to happen i wouldn't bet my house on that happening again. Mekong
So an all English Semi Final looks on the cards Chelsea should get past Fenerbache. The other semi will probably be Barca v United. Bit slow Sayjaan
