Its goal is to program people with a certain set of cultural beliefs and a common ideology. Education is meant to mould "good citizens", not to develop people who may challenge the system or to develop individuals to their potential. The education process of the teachers. Those that teach the young in the education system. Public education v/s private education. Federal teachers v/s locally hired teachers. Who makes the determination and sets qualifications as to who becomes a teacher. And who teaches the teachers. In the US there is a Department of Education. Some funding and guidelines are prescribed. But most US public education is at the local level. Little cities, towns, and hamlets - all have an elected school board. Thousands and thousands of local school boards redunantly doing the same thing over and over throughout the country. Any smart person or any idiot can run and be elected to the local school board. And what percentage of the electorate shows up to vote for these people? And of those that show up to vote for these school boards - how many have an 'agenda'? Education alone does not make one smart or dumb. Geneitcs. Family. Social situation. One example of federal intervention in US public schools is the School Lunch Program. Most think it is meals for poor people - another liberal giveaway. No, it started after WWII when the US Army found that many of the draftees were undernourished and sickly and unfit for miltary service due to poor nutrition. The US School Lunch Program was initiated as a National Defense Program. I think the whole concept of public government schools should be abolished. All parents given vouchers so that the parents can choose the school for their children. Certainly the schools should be monitored. Just as some schools in the Central East are teaching hatred - public schools in all countries have to be constantly viewed to make sure those children are actually being taught what is appropriate. But who does the viewing or monitoring? More elected officials - who may or may not be smart or may be idiots? Home Schooling. That is another excuse for the wife to stay at home and not get a job. And where does this home schooled child obtain social skills needed in the workplace or maketplace? And who monitors the mother/teacher in home schooling? Christian Schools. There's another in the US. Do we really need more religious fanatics roaming the planet? Christian colleges in the US. Anyone ever look into these colleges. Most have no credentials. So the minister at the Christian churh up the street with a PHD in Religion came from an unaccredited college. So what does that PHD mean? He may have just memorized the Bible word for word. I honestly do know a guy with that last name. But more than likely, this young chap in the picture lives in a trailer park in West Viginia, sucking down Old Milwaukee beer.
