What makes my skin crawl is the obsession that some people have with Stickman. I understand that he's in the public domain by choice and open to criticism, but why bother? These well reasoned analyses strike me as being creepy, like that Galt fellow.

 

If you don't like his site, don't read it. It's not like a media empire being forced down your throat, so why all the negative energy against it?

 

I'm not a Stickman apologist. I just don't get it.

It's all very well to say an enterprising kiwi is making a success of himself overseas - but as a pimp? And when since he is clearly intelligent, he could be doing something so much more positive.

What if you don't pay and have sex with someone seen as 'poor' by Western standards, would that be OK with you? What about have dinner? Maybe you should lay out, in very clear cut terms - what things are OK with poor people and what aren't, and who is being exploited. I would like to see that.

 

People pay for and sell 'sex' for a lot of different reasons. As adults, it should be their decision, not yours. You don't like it? Don't do it. But keep the puritanical bullshit out of other's lives.

Once again - if you have problems with it or you agonize over issues around sex, don't do it. Pushing those views onto others and legislating them is a different thing entirely, and I personally have little tolerance for it.

 

Yes, there need to be safety nets and anyone who forces people into sex against their will or exploits children should be shot. After a severe beatdown. But when it comes to adults navigating the world and their particular circumstances -- they should be allowed to choose their own paths as long as its not overtly causing harm to others.

 

Prostitution will always be around, like it or not. Embrace it or persecute it -- it's not going away.

I have said for ages there is a segment of the punter community that feels bad about buying sex, no matter where it is. These guys need to sanitize it, clean it up, and some how disassociate themselves from what it is they are really doing. I have seen some really pathetic cases in this area.

 

To these guys sticking their dick up some 19 year old uneducated girls ass is ok because he gave here a gift, or bought her a nice dinner at a place she felt awkward in, or he gave her an extra 500bht...whatever. Yup it's all ok to these guys when they do what they do, but when we do the same thing we are some how despicable animals. These guys "understand the girls," we apparently do not.

 

BTW, does it matter if we are fucking some uneducated farm girl whore for cash vs. having some lower middle class educated girl providing us with sex in exchange for goods and services which make her life better? Some guys need to face facts, in most cases the ONLY reason they are with a girl 1/2 their age or better is because the dude is providing her with something she cannot provide for herself. So we need to get over the whole educated vs uneducated poor Vs not poor whore vs GTG mentality and realize they ALL want something from us. And we want something from them, who's kidding who here?

 

99% of the time I could give a rat's ass about these girl's personnel issues anymore than I do for the issues of a person selling me a cup of coffee at Peet's. It is all business to me. It doesn't change just because I am paying to use them sexually.

 

Yes, over the years, 1-2 did get to me, and I got lost in the game...but in the end I came back to earth when they proved themselves for exactly what they were, and that is whores on the game. I watched my beloved Si Saket Girl go from sweet country bumpkin to full on heartless whore. For a brief point in time, it did cause me to rethink my role in the game. But in the end, I saw it for what it was, something bigger than both of us, and neither one was going to change it. I am a punter, and I can't change it, she is a whore and she can't change that. I find the whole farmer's daughter thing a little dated. Rice farming is now fully automated. They don't even use buffalo anymore. No buffalo = no buffalo shit. Yes they can now get three harvests a year but potash has to be imported from Saskatchewan and the rice doesn't grow nearly as high as it used to. This may give the farmer's daughters more time on Facebook but is this a good thing?

My good man you have hit the nail on the head. All the morality stuff is but a smokescreen. First, last and foremost he does what he does cause it keep him in Thailand in the only fashion he can due to limited job prospects at home or abroad.

 

One other important thing to remember is culture. New Zealanders are famous for leaving their country in droves to find greener pastures in other lands. Most unfortunately lack the skill set required for legitimate work and take up ocupations not wanted by indigenous folk (eg. construction, prostition, mens wear shop attendants etc). Others specialise in less reputable occupations such as petty theft, drug dealing, fencing of stolen goods. Many become confidence trickers knocking door to door, I am sure we have all heard the story of the charming NZer who befriends pensioners over cup of tea and biscuits only to make off with their lifesavings.

 

In many ways they are the south pacific equivalent of Nigerians.
