Sporty
Seh Daneg’s assassination “planned", says sister Published: 17/05/2010 at 11:30 AM Online news: Breakingnews The assassination of army specialist Maj Gen Khattiya Sawasdipol was planned in advance, and he knew of the plan, his elder sister Chiaranai Matchakijborikarn said on Monday. He was hit in the head by a rifle bullet about 7.30pm on Thursday just after finishing an interview with foreign reporters near the red-shirt protest site at Sala Daeng intersection. Maj-Gen Khattiya, a hardline red-shirt supporter widely known as Seh Daeng, was declared dead at 9.20am today, Vajira Hospital announced. “My brother had learned that he would be assassinated within one month,†Mrs Chiaranai said. She said members of Maj Gen Khattiya, widely known as Seh Daeng, had never talked to fugitive former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra on the phone as was reported by the media. Maj Gen Khattiya was transferred to Vajira Hospital late on Thursday night in critical condition after being first admitted to Hua Chiew Hospital. He never regained consciousness. Wallenda
She said [color:red]members of Maj Gen Khattiya[/color], widely known as Seh Daeng, had never talked to fugitive former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra on the phone as was reported by the media. Uh, what is that supposed to mean? "Members of Gen Khattiya"? Does the writer mean members of his family (in which case the words "the family of" are missing), or does he mean he himself (in which case the words "members of" are not supposed to be in the sentence)? If it's the latter, it means he invented the whole story that he was in touch with Thaksin all this time. And it stands to reason that his "knowing" he was going to be assassinated would likely have been made up too. Obviously a guy like him would have announced something like that to the press, no? Honestly, the guy seemed like he was off his rocker, so it wouldn't surprise me if he never did talk to Thaksin. ( but didn't he VISIT Thaksin in Dubai?) It would surprise me if he knew he was going to be assassinated, at least the way it's claimed in this story. Very likely would be that he received death threats (as I'm sure most of the major players do) and extrapolated that to mean he'd be targeted. But if that's what it was, then everyone involved could "know" they'll be assassinated. Big deal. When you bluster as much as he did, you're bound to be right about some of them, just by sheer luck.
