Found out that an old school friend of mine has more-than-likely been washed away in the devestating floods here in Australia. Horrible footage of him floating away on the roof of his car here . Luckily they have found his wife and child, but no sign of my friend, James. Geez - he only posted something on my Facebook wall a few hours before this happened. I've seen photos, videos, and news accounts of the overall tragedy of the flooding. "Horrendous" is the only word that I can find off the top of my head. (I'm sure a coincidence, but last night saw a documentary on draught conditions is SW Australia last night and it's effect on various animals living there.) It is one of the most enduring images of this flood, along with the bridge at Grantham which Police fear is now a mass grave. RIP to all the victims.
