That popped up today on MSNBC. 3 hours ago, Mekong said: Basically News Agencies should be impartial and Newspapers print lies. I'd go further and say, all News should be impartial. After all, they are supposed to be reporting what happened. If they wanna opine, label that bit as opinion. Mind you, then you'd need functionally literate readers.
My Penis is hungry Posted March 24, 2022 Report Posted March 24, 2022 I read a quote last week, it basically said that all news is now becoming biased and we should be careful what we read from 1851

But there is, either bias to appease the owners and/ advertisers, or the demography of the readership be it the Bowler hat wearing Times and Telegraph readers to the Bobble Hat wearing Sun and Mirror readers. There is “Mainstream Bias” where by every media outlet is reporting the same thing, Sensationalism which favours the exceptional over the mundane, and so on. My favourite is “Missing White Woman Syndrome” where by a young middle class white female is deemed more News worthy than a working class and/or black male.

Mekong Posted July 10, 2023 Author Report Posted July 10, 2023 I missed this one TIME calls Kakhovka dam collapse 'Ukraine's Chernobyl' Link 1
Coss Posted July 10, 2023 Report Posted July 10, 2023 Yes, about as helpful, as pointing out that the war in Ukraine, is becoming "Ukraine's War".
Mekong Posted June 18, 2024 Author Report Posted June 18, 2024 A Russian soldier is leaving for Ukraine and is saying goodbye to his wife. He tells her that he is off to war to fight the war against the US and NATO in Ukraine. A year later, he returns on leave. She asks him how the war is going for Russia. He answers, “Terrible, we’ve lost our best equipment and weapons, lost our best commanders, most of our best troops are dead or wounded, we are starving, and our replacements in equipment, weapons, and personnel are next to useless.” “That’s horrible,” the wife responds. “What about the losses of the US and NATO?” The soldier looks dejected and responds, “They haven’t shown up yet”. 1
Mekong Posted February 28 Author Report Posted February 28 He also denied saying that he said the EU was screwing America one day after saying the EU was screwing America, dementia really is setting in
