Hmong man opens fire in USA, 6 dead

i have serious difficulties to understand the US hunting systhem.

from what i gather at the posts here, it appears that as soon as the season opens every nut with a gun can go and play war on the animal population.

where i come from hunting is serious business - to get a license one has to go through rigurous schooling, has to learn everthing about nature, animals, etc., has to have thorough police checks before getting his hunting and gunlicense.

when one then takes over a hunt, the hunter is responsible for his territory, for the upkeep and balance of his animal population.

you are not allowed to freely kill anything that comes in front of your rifle (not even tourists. but they should introduce a quota there as well).

i have no license, but i have been at many hunts when i was a kid. i remember the hunter stalking a particular animal for ages, only firing the shot when it was assured that the kill is quick and no unnecessary suffering for the animal.

here in thailand it's a bit different, people hunt for food. when they have enough they go home.

but drunk fuckwits with automatic guns (WTF? an automatic gun and hunting?! you use specialised rifles and shotguns for whatever game you hunt) going on a rampage?

please care to enlighten me how that can be called hunting.

What I hjave been wondering about is the possible background of the hmong guy. he is 34 years old so maybe too young to have been involved in the US /viet war but wasn't there a whole lot going on after 1974? Maybe a guy very used to killing people, possibly inspired by US types? Just speculating, i'm not up to speed on Hmong history.

Paillote,

<<where 3 Pakistanis knifed a Norwegian to death in Sweden. Since it could not be established which of the 3 stabbed, noone spent a day in jail.>>

Although maybe not in Sweden , things are improving elsewhere. Plenty of Pakistanis jailed in Guantanamo and nobody has an idea for what and how long. I am pretty sure the archaic principle to first make sure who is responsible for what and then accordingly jail him needs to be reconsidered in favour of what the yellow press thinks should be done.

there still is.

a war that should have been over decades ago. but i doubt that there is many of the reseddled hmong involved other than in collecting moneys and symbolic acts.

I think you're not get much balance on the topic here...i.e. working class Americans with firearms, lets take the piss, very original!...of course the European system is far supirior, natuarlly, Fox Hunting with 200 hounds and one fox....Bull Fighting, watch some ponce stick knives into a mad bull till it bleeds to death...OLD EUROPE ....the only Nut in this case was the bad tempered Hmong guy!

No one in the US hunts game with an "automatic weapon" WTF you want to discuss an issue try at least to get the terminology straight. And your poor usage of english vernacular negates any point you are trying to make.

Lesson #1: The Hmong man in this story was using an SKS rifle, a SEMI-AUTOMATIC weapon.

I hope that's clear enough for you.

To jump from semi-automatic to automatic in the world of weapons displays profound ignorance of the subject.(a common media distortion) If you want to jump on a "bash-america" theme with this ( at least that is the underlying tone of your post) please try and be intelligent about it!

perhaps if you read the post by Flyonswall you might. ::

Nice move though in your subtle suggestion that I may have a twisted mind. I do thank you! ::

But I try not to twist the facts. As our friend has.

in how many languages are you fluent, you arrogant twat?

i am fluent in three, and understand to some degree three more.

now, getting that out of the way, can you explain me then how *semi-automatic weapons* are used in *hunting* (or what i understand under hunting - not wildly waging war against the animal kingdom.

bullfighting has nothing whatsoever to do with hunting, and the fox hunt is a "sport" you mainly do on your island only, and has very little to do with hunting game.

a very good childhood friend of mine is working class, and a hunter. in germany hunting has nowadays very little to do with class systhem. upper and lower class who want to hunt have to go through an equally difficult schooling and rigorous medical and psychological checks before they can get their license.

it has to do with responsible hunting, which means not just killing animals, but being responsible for the nature. i am not a bloody vegan, i have no problem at all with hunting per se. but i have a bit of a problem with people shooting wildly around, regardless their class or nationality.
