Being the Big Dog in something that requires effort is admirable. Trying to impress people in a Thai Gogo by spending lots of money just seems a bit pathetic. If it is spending money on your friends or a deserving bar girl or two that is different from the guy making show off ringing the bell and tossing buckets of ping pong balls. I've often gone to Gogo bars with a group of friends, had a good time and picked up the tab and never spent as much as 5K. The guy in the OP came in and left alone, nursed a water and still managed to spend 5K. If it made him feel good for a couple hours fine, it is his money. But it is a bit sad.

It was an urban legend back in the 60s but it appears to be cantharidin which is a urinary (and other tissue) irritant. Basically it gives you an itchy cock but can cause permanent damage to the kidneys and genitals.

Hmmm, I mean, four people, four drinks an hour, two hours, is B4800 @ B150/drink. And that's a normal evening for my friends and me. Obviously, YMMV since we obviously move in different circles .

We normally don't spend two hours in a gogo nor drink that hard in one. Usually a couple of beers and move on to some place else. The main point of the gogo bar is to find something to take with us when we leave. So maybe we will hit 4 or 5 different places during the evening and we'll take turns picking up the tab at each. Still with one or two beers in each place the total for the whole night (excluding barfines) is only around 5K unless we get someone who cannot say no to requests for ladydrinks. We let him pick up the tab when that happens and tell him "Hey, you bought drinks for everyone else, you can pay for ours as well."
