skirtlifter
Hi lads Just interested in what you lot do for hobbies outside of the usual....whoring, drinking, pornography, experimenting in illegal substances...etc. When I was younger I spent a lot of time digging for old bottles around old gold diggings in central Victoria (Australia). I've always enjoyed fishing and still have a go when an opportunity arises. I love to read and watch sports on the idiot box. What I miss most though (having lived in Bangkok for a considerable time) is tending a vegetable plot. Time to fess up.

khunsanuk
Hi, I read every evening before going to bed; other than that playing games (PC/PS3/DS) and watching movies. Pretty boring Sanuk!
Mekong
Mountain Biking. Book a resort location for a Saturday night put the rack and the bikes on the back of the SUV and hit the highway. Most places on the edge of Khao Yai National Park are less than 1:45 drive away and even Pranburi / Sarm Roi Yod NP is within 2:30 drive. Riding the bikes in the countryside away from BKK whilst partaking in illegal substances and calling in at numerous watering holes during daylight hours dinner and a few drinks after sunset, we enjoy it. Yes boring old married man, up until a few years ago I was running up and down process plants, oil platforms and power plants etc 60 hours / week wheras nowadays I am sat in front of a screen 40-50 hours / week so I need to get off my lazy arse most weekends and try to keep active. I can highly recommend Pak Chong and visiting Grande Mont and PB Vineyards for free wine tasting whilst on mountain bike
khunsanuk
Hi, Hmm, that actually sounds like fun. I used to ride a bike every day in Holland, but haven't done so in years. Miss it at times. Sanuk!
drogon
swimming, badminton (hard to practice here -> no courts), military history. Used to love cycling too, absolutely impossible here (except in the parks) as it would amount to suicide...
Mekong
Mountain Biking in Holland Jokin' KS its great fun, we don't realise how bad the air quality and how artificialy high the temperature actualy is in BKK until we get away from it. You don't even have to own your own bike there are plenty of places to rent from or some resorts also have courtesy bikes. Come rainy season its also good fun to go rafting or tubing in Nakhon Nayok and Prachin and since your have WP and get the Thai rate for National Parks there are also some good basic cabins available within Khao Yai NP. Since my office is a spare bedroom at home and I do most of my work from here I have the NEED to get out and about at least every other weekend to maintain what little sanity still remains. You have given me an idea now of a new thread in expat forum and to also post some links of resorts that I would go back to on the links page but alas it will have to wait, I have to go and chapereon DS around Washington Square soon, talk about it next time we are both in attendance at a Friday meet. khunsanuk
Hi, "Mountain Biking in Holland" No, not mountain biking in Holland Rather difficult without mountains Sleeping arrangement near Khao Yai are not a problem. My wife has a close friend living there and we get a discount at a 'resort' that has large bungalows (easily enough for the five of us) and even allows us to bring the dog. Sounds like a good idea for a thread, day-trips/weekend trips (I assume that is what you have in mind, right?) Sanuk!
zzzz
Road Cycling -- very dangerous but I love it -- I'll probably end up as road kill one of these days...
