LOL ! LK's hero just got an old-fashioned butt-kickin, a trip out behind the barn for a whippin', a butt-fuckin' that seems to have caused him too lose some of that arrogance for which he's noted in some quarters.

While Obama seemed somewhat contrite today in some ways, he also is setting himself up to further establish himself as an idealogue. Will have to wait and see about that. Clinton was easier for the GOP to work with because (unlike Obama)Clinton really didn't have any hardcore visions or agenda. And most of the ideas he had came from the GOP platform. 555555555

No question that the election was in response to the arrogant, ram it down our throats approach the Demoncrats have practiced in the last two years. Most people rejected that in the vast, vast geographical expanse of the country. The only parts of the country that voted for the Demoncrats were in the big cities. I might be wrong, but I think if you went county-by-county, you could fit all of the blue counties into one state. (We could call it the Great State of Idiots. Of course, I'd have to move, as I already live in California. 555555)

Anybody know if Chris Matthews and Keith Olberman have seen their shrinks yet today? I gotta believe they've had a meltdown. 555555555555 Put em on suicide watch, maybe? 55555555555

Spin this;

"ABC News projects Republicans will take control of the House of Representatives picking-up between 60 and 70 seats in a resounding rebuke to President Obama and the Democrats.

The GOP House victory would be the biggest gain for a party in a midterm since 1938, when Democrats lost 71 seats amid deep economic malaise during the Great Depression."

Doesn't this traditionally happen? Happened to Bush2 Clinton, I think Bush 1 and Regan as well...before that who knows?...how was that for spin? Facts aside, Fox "news" style.

Fine but not true. Did not happen to clinton till the last 1/4. Did not happen to Bush. Did happen to Carter in his favor no less and they got zero done.

As HH said... interesting map!

{edit: how come my pic is not showing up but as a link?}

First HH, you must be secretly thrilled to see Gov. Moonbeam back in office. I fear Meg "The Forehead" Whitman would have gutted your pension and healthcare. Congrats!

There were some interesting trends:

The nutjobs lost: Nevada, Delaware, Alaska.

The big losses were in the rustbelt. Not on the coasts, but in the manufacturing sectors. Even Milwaukee, that true bastion of socialism (literally) kicked out Feingold. People who have been permanently displaced in the workforce are justifiably scared. Will be interesting to see if and how the GOP reacts to retain those voters.

Lots of talk from the winners about cutting spending, but almost nothing concrete that would actually cut the deficit significantly. Pat Buchanan says we should get out of Germany and Korea, and dramatically cut military spending. But no one in office has the balls to suggest that.

Looks like the Bush tax cuts will get an extension. Time to go put a deposit on a new Bimmer or a Lexus.

I would say the average US citizen is extremely frustrated with the antics that have been going on in Washington, DC for the past few years...unwanted wars, lies (WMD??? bullshit), bailout crap, high unemployment...the list goes on and on.

So yes, vote out some of the politicians and replace them with what *** might *** be better.

As long as bribes, I mean campaign contributions, stack up into the millions and the lobbyists continue to bribe, I mean make campaign contributions, then nothing will change for the better, IMO.

Dems shouldn't have been bragging too much after the '08 election. Pelosi and others should seen it for what it was. People either run from something or to something and '08 was about running from. I'd give the same message to Republicans. Big victory, not unexpected, but what next? Okay, lets say Obama does lose in '12, I don't see much happening anyway, from either party and I'd even say that the tolerance level for Republicans by the people is far shorter than it is for Dems because of '00 - '08. People are running to the Tea Party and Republicans but I wouldn't put much faith in them right now.

The only thing that might happen is the repukes will now have to stop voting no/grid locking, and actually try to do something...they won't, but even if they did, the demacraps will then vote no/grid lock...the repukes may have one this round but we all lost...
