One of the girls at my work has started to call me a kiddy fiddler because she has been told I used to teach English in Thailand. After she said it the first time I laughed it off thinking she's making a rather crude joke. It has now been going on for days and today she said it to me straight to my face saying "I wonder how your customers would feel if they knew you were a kiddy fiddler?" I'm going to lay a complaint about her at work but I'm sure the label will stick. Obviously working in Thailand or working in Thailand as a teacher means you're a kiddy fiddler. I've never touched a fucking kid in my life nor would I ever. I don't have the sick attraction to kids that people like that have. Ironically many people from my work are going to Phuket for the end of year business trip and they are going to get a rude shock when they hit Patong. Small minded attitudes and stereotypes. If she's made the comments in the presence of or to anyone else, crucify her and set her alight, burn her on the stake. It was hard to read her because she said it quite deadpan but because we'd been out socially and got on quite well I thought she was joking. But when the comments continue you realise its no longer a joke. I bet if I called her something tame I'd get screwed but it seems women can get away with it because its directed towards a man. I work in Australia and I've only just started the job so I really didn't want to rock the boat especially as many of us had been complaining about the companies processes which has already created tension between employees and management.
